We were then brought through to the restaurant where we met John who was our chef for the night the experience was out of this world and my god the food was to die for it was scrumptious i have never tasted anything like it. It was so relaxing and John and Hazel enjoyed the banter with everyone . I would highly recommend and i hope to be able to visit them again soon. I visited during the day to take in the current exhibits. No charge to see the art! The halls are big and bright, plenty of room to enjoy the sculptures. I walked through a room of materials for artistic play and a theatre room where a short film was playing. Nice rooms, bathrooms, gift area, and even a cafe.

From the outside you cannot imagine that he museum in Carlow town is actually that big. They have the famous pulpit that once belonged in the cathedral, an old living room and an old grocery store that helps to imagine how people lived in the past. Info on the sugar factory that employed so many in town (my father-in-law being one) and a piece of the trap door used in the executions in what today is the Carlow shopping centre. And much more. Right beside the library .

Visited here en route to a short break in mount wolseley. The kids did the chocolate mould making. They all really enjoyed it. We also had various drinks and some mini chocolate fountains with strawberries and marshmallows. Everyone loved those and my 12 year old has told me that the white hot chocolate she had was the best she ever had (and she’s tried lots!) so that’s a real compliment. This is a family business. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this area
