Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Dongargarh, Bambleshwari Temple in Dongargarh is situated at the top of a 1600 feet high hill and is devoted to the Hindu goddess Maa Bambleshwari Devi. The temple has 2 separate segments; Badi Bambleshwari is the temple at the hilltop, where as Chhotti Bambleshwari is located a bit further away from the vicinity of the main temple. Bambleshwari Temple is steeped in ancient legends. It is widely believed that the actually temple was built during the reign of emperor Vikaramaditya, which dates back to 600 years ago. Conversely it is also believed that Raja Veersen, ruler of Dongargarh, in order to appease the Gods for his true successor, had built the temple 2200 years ago.
I have been visiting bambleshwari mata temple in dongargarh since childhood. It is nearly 100 kms from Raipur. The temple has more than 1000 stairs to climb before one reaches the sanctum. There is also a ropeway which can be used to reach the sanctum. Temple remains closed from 1 pm to 3 pm. There is also a small bambleshwari temple once to come down from the sanctum. Divine and pious.

An ideal place for people who love nature and have interest in religion. If you want to hangout for a day with family, friends or alone during any long weekend or any consecutive holidays, this place must be checked out. But be careful with the stream. Children shall be taken care of. The managing committee of the temple has made some good arrangements like watch station to have a clear view of the stream, a makeshift bamboo bridge across the stream to reach the temple safely.

Pros The mall houses all major outlets including Fab-India, Bata, Khadim, Big Bazar, Maxx, Shoppers Stop, Dominos, Mc Donalds, INOX multiplex etc. Excellent ambience Quite different from other malls Nice and clean Has a food court - Hangout - with tasty food. 7D theatre, which is a hit among the kids.
