Located at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee is the headquarters for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Signs around town are in English and Cherokee, and the city itself is anchored by the Harrah's Cherokee Casino. The tourist-oriented area is rich in outdoor activities for the entire family. The tribe runs a botanical garden, cultural museum, Indian village recreation, historical dramas, and an arts and crafts center.

Located on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Native American Craft Shop features the Southeast's largest collection of Native made crafts and art. Cherokee owned and operated.
Not just authentic creations by Cherokee, also turquoise southwestern Indian jewelry and crafts. Diverse collections of baskets, pottery, sculptures, blankets, jewelry, fetishes, soaps and too many others to list here. There are some collectible items like pricey carvings, baskets, painted gourds, and large to small pottery, and the usual modestly priced tourist trinkets. If you look hard and ask some questions, you can find something spectacular or simple - depending on your budget. Very pleased with my stone carved totem by Joel Queen!

Authentic local handmade crafts, arts and herbals since 1963
Medicine Man Crafts has been in business for over 50 years and THAT speaks LOUDLY of their abilities. You can find more authentic Cherokee crafts ( carvings, jewelry, baskets) than almost every other shop in Cherokee. Locally owned and operated, every customer is treated with the same enthusiasm and customer service. I have been going there ( and purchasing) for over 40 years. TRY it YOU'LL Like IT!!!! :)

This site tells the history and culture of the Cherokee Indians through displays and modern computer images.
You'll need an hour or two to do this fine museum justice. It is a very well done and accurate telling of the history of Cherokee people.. You have headphones and can take as much time as you like touring. The exibits and artwork are very well done.History lovers will thoroughly enjoy it.I think the $11 fee for seniors is fair and well worth it.The gift shop is large and has a really wide selection of books as well as other items.

This cooperative sells Cherokee Indian crafts, such as clay pots and handmade clothes.
This is a coop where all the Native Americans bring their hand made crafts to sell. There is some awesome craafts on display here and worth every penny. The prices may seem high, and they are but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Hand carvings, baskets and jewelry just to name a few. Worth the stop just to enjoy the beauty of this talented craftsman.

Before you enter there is an entrance fee. Once you enter there you will experience a informative, historical story of the Cherokee people. Beautiful display of artifacts along with an informational detail. There is a separate area that covers the trail of Tears which is informative and truly heart breaking. At the end of the tour there is a gift shop that you can visit. Very well worth the visit.

Have been going here since they opened, always clean, and well staffed Theaters. Be sure to get a Movie Rewards Card too, they are free and if you visit here often, the points will add up also good at the Forge Theaters in Pigeon Forge, TN and several others around the country. Both the locals and tourist go here. Plenty of parking and well lighted too. Easy to find near to hotels and major tourists attractions.

In this time of made in China junk and typical tourist trap junk, it was a pleasure to enter this charming establishment. David Smith is the owner of Bearmeat's Indian Den. The Arts & Crafts are truly authentic and genuine. They take the time to explain what it is you are getting. The quality is top shelf. The entire staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. Their mountain apples and cabbage are awesome. We will be returning in the near future.
