This free museum is the best place to get an overall history lesson about the Westward movement of people on the Oregon, Mormon and California trails. These trails went through Wyoming. Watch the 18 min film first then explore the museum. While not a huge museum it is very well organized and has many great interactive features. We were very impressed. The gift shop has great books. The staff were very friendly. Definitely a must see if you are interested in the trails.

There's so much in this small museum you could spend hours learning about extinct animals without even beginning to explore the rocks and minerals! I think that anyone interested in paleontology from age 6 and older would get a lot out of a visit.

Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum

Located in the heart of an old Army Air Force Base, the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum preserves and shares the personal and intimate stories of Wyoming's Veterans. From the Spanish-American War to the present day, the WVMM covers all branches of service. Visitors to the Museum can explore the individual experiences of World War I doughboys in France or those of a naval aviator in Vietnam. Our collection includes over 25,000 military and veterans-related items. Beyond veteran history, the Museum also explores the history of the Casper Army Air Base. Built after Pearl Harbor, the base trained B-17 and B-24 bomber crews. Over 16,000 men passed through Casper on their way to Europe, Africa, or the Pacific. The Museum occupies the former Enlisted Men's Service Club, one of many base buildings remaining.

Very nice art museum with local and regional artists as well as globally known artists such as Picasso and Matisse. Worth the walk through. Also hosts Nic Fest during June. A weekend of food, music and great art.

My family really enjoyed this place the show was awesome! We saw stars! The staff was knowledgeable and very nice! The only negative I have is that they are not open to the public until after 4 we traveled a distance to come here and were disappointed we had to wait till the day was almost over to experience!
