Spa-goers have flocked to Carlsbad since its mineral spring was discovered in the late 19th century. Today, you can visit the site of the original well, but you can do much more than just "taking the waters"—Carlsbad’s spas offer world-class services.

As homebrewers we've developed a passion for hand crafted beer. This passion has inspired us to create a unique tour that highlights San Diego's scenic beauty, awesome food, and most of all radical micro-breweries. San Diego is also becoming widely known for its many award winning Craft Breweries. San Diego currently has 36 Breweries crafting some of America's most highly awarded Pale Ales, Stouts, IPA's, and Porters, etc

Award-winning professional theatre in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Located in the historic Bauer Lumber Building, New Village Arts presents six mainstage theatre productions each year, ranging from classic musicals to modern favorites and exciting new works. NVA also produces a concert series throughout the year, an annual gala each winter, and more. We offer classes for children, teens, and the elderly, including programs for teens with special needs and for adults with early-stage dementia and Alzheimer's. Located in the building is our Foundry Artist Studios--studio space for 16 resident artists working in a variety of mediums and styles. Each month the Foundry hosts an Artist Reception with a gallery showcase, live music, refreshments, and interactive art. With theatre, visual arts, music, and education programs, NVA is the premier arts hub in North County San Diego.
This little theater boasts some of the best actors, directors, and productions you'll see anywhere! Situated right on the train tracks right downtown Carlsbad. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from to make it a full night out. Parking is easy and ticket prices are a bargain. Don't miss out on a production if you're visiting. Go out of your way if you're going to be anywhere in North County. Just saw "Murder for Two" last night and it's hilarious. What talent!

Inspired by the healing powers of the sea, Ocean Crest Spa offers an environmentally mindful spa experience with coastally inspired treatments. We consistently feature rare, eco-friendly brands and utilize exceptionally pure, naturally sourced products, available in few other domestic spas.
We surprised my mom for her 70th birthday with a Spa Day and we couldn’t have picked a better place to do it! We started our day with massages (every day should start with a massage) for the 4 of us. From there, while still in our robes, we dined at Chandlers for lunch and the food was amazing - lobster & shrimp tacos, king salmon blt, and creme brûlée to die for! Our second treatment included facials and a stop in the steam room - with some of the best facial products on the planet. Every masseuse and esthetician was top notch and friendly! I would highly recommend getting appointments well in advance- like we did - because everything was booked solid on the day we were there. And, make sure you spend some time in the relaxation rooms to feel truly relaxed - in other words - get there early and stay! I will be back!

Living in Massachusetts and coming for a month to Carlsbad, CA, I wanted books to read. I was able to go online, fill out the application and then get my library card once I went to customer service at the library. Everyone was helpful I feel they should have reviews for their service.
We bought a condo in Carlsbad 9 years ago and moved here permanently about 2 years ago. The Carlsbad Libraries are a gem! Clean, well lit, very helpful staff. We got our library cards 9 years ago and have been blessed ever since.

Be sure to stop off at this visitor center for brochures, maps, hotel, beach and surf information to take advantage of all this charming town has to offer.
During a recent trip to Carlsbad, California, had the opportunity to visit the Carlsbad Convention & Visitor Information Center to obtain information on Carlsbad. The center is located in the original train depot (built in the 1880's) located right in the middle of downtown. This old building is full of history and the old architecture and woodwork makes this building a piece of art and a train lovers delight. Wonderfully preserved example of an early train station. Strongly suggest taking time and examine this relic from the past. The Center is the focal point for information on the city of Carlsbad and the San Diego area. Maps, brochures, and information on local events, hotels and restaurants are available to the traveler. Assistance can be provided to obtain tickets to SeaWorld Aquarium, LegoLand and other popular tourist attractions in the surrounding area. Staff is extremely helpful and will gladly provide advice and suggestions on what to see and do in Carlsbad. Utilizing the maps and information provide to us, our day trip to Carlsbad turned out to be an enjoyable trip. Suggest all first time visitors to the area stop by and obtain information to help enrich your visit to this beach side community.

The Museum of Making Music celebrates the music products industry’s rich history from 1900 to today. Through unique exhibitions, vibrant and varied live music performances, and innovative educational programs, the Museum shares the accomplishments and impact of the people who make, sell, and use musical instruments and products. When you step into the galleries (and back in time) you’ll see outstanding examples of musical instruments, many of them displayed in vintage music store settings. You’ll also hear some familiar tunes in audio and video clips, have many hands-on opportunities to pick up and play a variety of instruments, and discover the innovative ways that the music industry has grown over the years.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful little museum that featured historical instruments and samples of the music of the times. What was most fun was the areas where guests were free to play instruments ranging from banjos and guitars to theramins and organs that sounded like full orchestras.

Settled in the 1920s by people fleeing the Mexican Revolution, this historical neighborhood holds firmly to its Latino flavor despite the modern development around it, and boasts fine food and interesting shops.
We went during Happy Hour which was excellent. The prices on the drinks was very reasonable and the tacos were amazing! They have a variety--I had a street taco with carne asada and a fish taco. We sat outside and it was very pleasant.
