In the Welsh Wind Distillery

Welcome to In the Welsh Wind distillery. A working distillery on the West Wales coast, we are proud to be innovators and providers of bespoke, small batch premium spirits and gin tasting events. Join us for bespoke gin making experiences in our gin lab, and gin tasting opportunities. Our gin lab gin making experience offers you the opportunity to become the distiller and discover your own gin, guided by our expert team. Our unique experience allows you to choose your preferred balance of botanicals, operate one of our custom-made copper pot mini stills, and craft a bottle of your very own to label and take home. Our experiences are for a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 16 (based on 2 people sharing an experience - and a still). Come to the distillery for a gin tasting - after your welcome gin and tonic, you'll have the opportunity to explore 3 of our craft gins, learn about their flavour profiles and decide which you prefer before enjoying another gin and tonic!

We saw this place from the main road ( used to be a dreadful looking pub) and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door by a very informative lady - we could not got in to the whole building due to COVID restrictions but she explained about the gins they distill there. We ended up buying a bottle. Would go next time for the full gin tasting experience

Cardigan Castle

Winner of the Channel 4 Restoration of the Year, this site features 900 years of history including medieval castle walls and a Georgian house restored to its original glory. You can also stay in this great place with a mixture of serviced and self catering accommodation, 4* and 5* respectively. Our 1176 café and restaurant serves great lunches in a modern cantilevered building overlooking the river.

We visited Cardigan Castle as part of our week away, and we were so glad we did. You start off with an introductory video (the gazebo you're in has plenty of spacing between the chairs to accommodate social distancing) and then you have the freedom to explore the grounds. There's a huge garden which our dog enjoyed exploring (until the ride-on lawnmower came that is!) and we had loads of fun taking photos while sat on the Eisteddfod chair. The Manor House was really lovely and included a lot of exhibits from Cardigan's history, and the allotment was lovely to visit and I was surprised that they're still growing vegetables even with the coronavirus situation, so we could see a lot of different vegetables being grown. You can get some fantastic views from the castle walls and it made for some great photos. The entry price was very reasonable (I think it was £6 per adult and only £1 for our dog) which lets you revisit any time within a year. If we return to Cardigan we'll certainly come by again.

Omg. Never seen so many jars of sweets. From all the old fashioned ones you had as a child to up to date ones. My husband spent a fortune in there this weekend :)
