The DOCK - we are a small bar in the heart of the barock-town Solothurn. The bar is situated directly at the river "Aare". The DOCK provides a landing stage and a nice deck above the river. You may also come by boat. The DOCK is a real bar and we provide a nice selection of beers on tap, excellent cocktails, a small variety of nice wines and of course a broad selection of international gins, whiskies, rums and all kind of spirits. We offer a small but delicious choice of snacks.

We visited this museum years ago. Since then, the 400-year-old building has been renovated as has the extensive displays of weapons, suits of armor and other artifacts that include a full circa 1775 military officer’s suit as well as skulls showing the damage done by medieval halberds and other weapons during battle. There are extensive collections of muskets, swords, spears and other nasty weapons from the medieval period through the 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can handle a halberd and try on an original suit of armor and helmet. Since our visit, the number of muskets on display has unfortunately been scaled back...unfortunately because we didn’t see any flintlock jaeger rifles, which we loved to see in abundance during our last visit. But overall the revocations are very well done!! We definitely recommend this museum!!!

A unique experience. The building was incredibly innovative when it was built in the early 20th century. Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy designed the building and experimented with concrete at a time when it was not usual especially for a building of this size. The contrast between the grey heavy material and the organic forms is a unique testimony to the avant garde spirit of its designer. It is also the seat of the Anthroposophic society and a University of Spiritual Science. Normally there are regular conferences and artistic performances held in the building, although now due to the Covid situation, all the events are held online. But simply walking on the Goetheanum ground is quite an experience by itself

The church is beautiful and well maintained over all these years. The grotto is splendid and already the way down through the rocks is very impressing. A very serene place!

Must see when you are in Solothurn. A pity that the tower wasn't open when we were there. Check-out the concerts.
