We come here for all types of fabrics, kits, notions, quilts and advice. The staff is knowledgeable and the selection is wonderful. They cater to the quilting / sewing enthusiast and are always willing and able to help out with questions one might have and give advice/ suggestions. Our trips to Bird in Hand are usually never complete until we stop here at the Log Cabin Quilt Shop. Reasonable prices and good value.

Amish Country Tours is the oldest operating tour company in Amish Country, and the only operator with certified guides. Far from the commercial clutter of Route 30, the Amish Experience at Plain & Fancy Farm sits on Route 340 between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse, a non-commercial AAA designated Scenic Cultural Byway, surrounded by Amish farms. Our exclusive Amish Visit-in-Person Tour is the only opportunity of its kind to allow for close interaction with the Amish at work, at milking time, and in the home, and the only tour designated by the County of Lancaster as an official Heritage Tour. It is limited to 14 guests on our mini-shuttles.

The Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is a favorite destination for locals, as well as out-of-town visitors. It features tons of delicious offerings, including fresh meats, cheese and produce, a wide variety of baked goods, chocolates and candies, bulk foods, spices, coffee and loose leaf tea, locally made chips and hard pretzels, hand-rolled soft pretzels, fresh-squeezed lemonade, apple cider, made-to-order subs, fried chicken and rows of homemade canned goods. Come for a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch style lunch or opt for something more portable, such as a soft pretzel-wrapped hotdog, and eat while you stroll the aisles in climate controlled comfort. Looking for a gift or souvenir? The Market offers locally made crafts and quilts, dried and silk flower, old fashioned toys, dolls and doll clothes, quality leather goods, t-shirts, and locally themed souvenirs. Visit the Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market for mouth-watering aromas and bountiful displays.
I love this Farmers Market because it has fresh farm vegetables (in season), fresh meats and fresh delicious bake goods. There is also a small sit down counter where you can get a snack or a quick lunch. Also just passed the lunch counter is a ramp to go down to an area where there are iron works, such as lanterns, Shepherd hooks for your bird feeders or flowers. Also there are dolies of various shapes, sizes and many have pretty stitchings of birds, flowers and also for holidays. Please note: Check their website for the days of the week they are open. They are closed on Sundays.

The house lights dim... A hush settles over the audience in this Lancaster theatre... When the cast steps on stage, you're in for a treat. It's an intimate theatrical experience that keeps Guests coming back. Presented in conjunction with Blue Gate Musicals, relevant and meaningful Broadway-style musicals from Amish Country have made our stage one of Lancaster County's must-see stops for live performances. For the 2020 season, we are thrilled to present a new Blue Gate Musicals show – "The Christmas Tree Ship " – and also to welcome back the wildly popular "Josiah for President". So escape your everyday world for a little while and enjoy our live stage shows. To enhance your Amish Country theater experience, come early or stay after the show to taste the bounty of our table. Enjoy a meal at our Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord or grab lighter fare at the nearby Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe.
We have seen several shows at Bird-In-Hand Stage and The Home Game ranks in the top shows. We appreciate the cast who put their "all" into it and showed that they enjoyed doing so. The "plot" provides a good Amish family setting. The Bird-In-Hand Stage runs a good wholesome show and it is for the whole family. After the show we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant which provides some good "home" cooking. Lancaster County offers several show and dinner attractions. For us, we will be returning to the Bird-In-Hand Stage! Last, I am confined to a "Power Chair" and in need of some additional accommodations. With pre-arrangements your people did a great job and made us feel at home without a lot of attention. P Smith #THG

The only permanent Magic Lantern Theater in the world is in Lancaster County! Travel back to a time “before the movies” when the spellbinding drama and humor of the Showman and the spectacular projected images from his “Magic Lantern Show” dazzled audiences across America with music and unique Victorian-era special effects. The Magic Lantern Show performs four different shows throughout the year: This is My Country Patriotic Show, Underground Railroad Show, Theater of Fear Halloween Show, and A Christmas Journey Victorian Christmas Show.
This show uses a 3 lens lantern manufactured in the late 1800s. The narrator changes hand painted lenses made in the same era while telling various Victorian Christmas stories pertaining to the pictures on the lenses. I have simplified and portrayed a cliff note version of this amazing show due to the fact if I explain it any further I would spoil this thrilling event. The narrator is amazing at keeping your attention. It is great for all ages with some captivating audience participation. The theater is small and quaint with cushion bench seating resembling a church atmosphere. Due to its size seating is somewhat limited so get your tickets early. Definitely worth every penny. You would be remiss in not attending this show if you are in Lancaster Pa. There is also a Resturant called Plain and Fancy directly attached to the theater which was wonderful. We had a spectacular and memorable time. Can’t wait to return next year.

This Amish owned business sells soap, candles, chapstick and ointments/salves. The scents are heavenly and the only problem is that you don't know which soap to try first! My favorite scents include the black raspberry vanilla, lavender shea, lavender with exfoliating poppy seeds, peach mango, apple and orange. Prices are very reasonable for homemade products. If you buy the soaps at her store (the address listed on this page) you get the best prices, her soaps are sold at other local businesses at slightly higher prices. The Amish woman who owns the store and makes the soap is incredibly kind and helpful. When I was there in November, she helped by assembling gift baskets for me to give as Christmas gifts. Just a note..the store is not open every day of the week so try to visit on either Thursday, Friday or Saturday. As of this review, the store does not accept credit card payments so make sure you come with cash!

My wife and I visited and even though the restrictions in place keep them from providing tasting, we were there for about an hour. Sophia suggested several combinations that would be great to try, so we got a growler (there was no charge for their growlers because of the restrictions- only the fill $10) of amber ale and blueberry cider. Sophia impressed us so much that we returned the next day because it was her birthday with a small gift to help her celebrate.
