I was attending as a visiting speaker. The meeting venue was the Drwm, a 100-seating film and video conference venue within the library where the seating and the AV facilities are second to none. The meeting included refreshments and a voucher for the library's restaurant which features a walk-through buffet of excellent diversity and quality. Although built as a library wherein are deposited virtually every book published, the NLW hosts a series of travelling exhibitions that are well presented and interesting. Having visited many times for historical research as well as organised conferences there has always been a friendly, helpful atmosphere. The first language of the staff is Welsh but all are at least bilingual and extremely helpful. The library is currently engaged in the huge task of digitising all the significant books and documents, making them available to internet subscribers. Oh, and there's a nice little shop! Well worth a visit.

Ceredigion Museum is a living mediator between the past and present. We aim to reflect the history of the county through material evidence. Ceredigion Museum is based at the Coliseum, Aberystwyth, with additional facilities throughout the county. Along with the permanent displays the museum has a lively programme of temporary exhibitions and events. Admission is free
This is a ‘must do’ visit if you’re anywhere near Aberystwyth. It was a Victorian Theatre in its early life but now an excellent museum has been created. We spent Two hours looking around which was interesting and thought provoking. There is an excellent cafe serving morning coffee and lunch time snacks. A truly worthwhile visit if in the area........

Award winning Aberystwyth Arts Centre is Wales' largest arts centre and recognised as a 'national flagship for the arts'. It has a wide-ranging artistic programme, both producing and presenting, across all art forms including drama, dance, music, visual arts, applied arts, film, new media, and community arts and is recognised as a national centre for arts development.
Interesting art exhibits by amateurs and established artists, wonderful cafe, first run and cult movies, dance, theatre, music. Very cool gift shop, book shop, and a spirit of joy and learning for all ages from children to seniors. Have seen many wonderful Art shows there, I'm especially fond of the student installations for the artists of tomorrow. Wonderful.

A lively Anglican Church, nestled on the west Wales coastline. The current building was built in 1890 and remnants of previous buildings can be found in the car park and by the park. We're part of the Church in Wales.

At Ultimate Xscape Aberystwyth, you must use a variety of skills to unlock your escape. You and your team have 60 minutes to work your way through the clues, crack the code and save yourself from being locked away forever (we’re only kidding, we'll let you out… eventually!). It’s great fun for friends, family, work colleagues and more, so grab your thinking caps and try to defeat our Xscape Rooms
We booked a couple of days before and the booking process was easy and fast. We arrived and checked in and after a short wait were taken through. We did the Room 13 escape experience and both rooms have a system where you can chose a the number of clues and hints depending on your level of experience. We chose level 2 which is a max of 5 clues and a few extra hints along the way. We managed to escape with about 15 mins to go and had a good chat with our escape master afterwards. Everyone was in masks and there was plenty of hand sanitiser available to keep your hands clean. All in all it was a fun way to spend an hour and I’d recommend it if you’re visiting Aberystwyth!

Rummers is split into upstairs and the basement. Upstairs is a rather smart eatery with subtle and stylish decor. The basement is a smugglers in with a sound system both ate great places to sit and await the arrival of the main act: the food. I can say with all seriousness that Rummers serves up some of the best vegan group that it has ever been my pleasure to consume. Utterly delicious. Add to this staff who really go above and beyond the call of duty and you can see why this is one of th best places to spend an evening if you are in Aberystwyth.

Walk among free-flying butterflies in a luxuriant tropical display. Hundreds of butterflies as well as giant caterpillars, beetles and leaf insects. Outside there is a well-established native butterfly garden. Free guided tours are available. Run by biologists.
Sad to read some negative reviews here saying it’s overpriced and too small. When you read the information within the butterfly house about the extensive and fascinating work which the team have put into developing the necessary habitats for these butterflies, which only live for days, it’s incredible to appreciate the decades of work that has gone into the butterfly house. There were many beautiful butterflies, and just as interesting were the huge range of exotic plants cultivated to create just the right environment for them. If you take it at face value it’s a poly tunnel with some butterflies and I guess you could wizz through in 5 minutes, but we spent the best part of an hour finding out about the different butterflies, their habitats and all the conservation work behind the scenes. When you understand how much work and expense goes into keeping this project alive, we were perfectly happy with the entrance fee and would highly recommend.

Came upon this place whilst looking for somewhere warm with our dogs during the Christmas week. Very recently refurbed. John, the barman, was welcoming and friendly...we enjoyed his company. Thank you.
