The 10 Best Things to do for Honeymoon in San Gimignano, Tuscany

February 24, 2022 Velvet Mowry

San Gimignano, known as the "city of beautiful towers," had 72 towers in its heyday. Now 14 remain, and, rising above Tuscany's Elsa Valley, they make the town look like a medieval dreamscape. Take in the fresco-covered Collegiate Church, the Civic Museum and the views from atop 177-foot Torre Grossa. Daytrippers from Florence tend to fill up the streets during the day, so for a more up-close-and-personal look at the town, spend the night.

We were so well taken care of by Fausto and Rikkaa. This is a family owned vineyard that makes some incredible wines. We had a great stay here for 2 nights and wished we had booked longer. Fausto helped us with everything from making reservations to recommending masseuses and restaurants. Rikkaa is very well versed sommelier who gave us great winery recommendations as well. However, with all the wines we tried in the region, we liked Guardastelle's wine the best and already bought 6 bottles shipped home!

Il Vicario - Tuscan Cooking Class

I'm Katia and me and my uncle Fulvio run the Tuscan cooking class in our family Boutique farmhouse Il Vicario. We are 4 km far from the fantastic town of San Gimignano and we teach you how to prepare a real Tuscany meal but most important we teach you how the food should taste. Your meal will be a celebration and a fantastic time to spent in a real Tuscany family.

Can’t say enough about how great Katia was. In a postcard setting, in a home built over a thousand years ago, Katia taught us the art of pasta making. She was able to meet the needs and keep the interest of our group of 6 ranging in age from 10 to 70. And did I mention how yummy our creations were? Best of all we plan to keep cooking together when we get home.

Hi everybody! I`m an environmental guide. I was born in a small but wonderful medieval village near San Gimignano and I am working in Tuscany. My tours range from trips to medieval villages to excursions to geological and naturalistic loci, from visiting landscapes and experiencing rural culture to walks around the typical hill villages along the Francigena Road (San Gimignano, Siena, Lucca, Monteriggioni, Volterra and so on). At the end of my walks, tourists can have lunch or dinner in one of the farms near San Gimignano or in the CHIANTI countryside: olive oil, wine, saffron, cheese, honey are only some of the typical genuine food. While travelling, I always try to establish friendships and create opportunities to learn about the Italian culture: the history and the natural environment of Tuscany in particular. My slow tourist tours are offered to share and spread the richness and beauty of Tuscany's places.

YOU have got to go see this winery/vineyard!!! It is the BEST...and David is wonderful. You can really tell that he cares about wine/food/people. It is an awesome tour of the vineyard and family chapel and then you are served a WONDERFUL lunch! We had about 1.5 hours before checking into our AirBnB, and David let us just stay outside, having some wine and enjoying the Tuscany sun. It was wonderful!!! We bought 2 bottles of his DELICIOUS wine. If you are anywhere near San Gimignano, don't miss this vineyard. It is the BEST!!!!

It is well worth visiting this house early on if you are visiting san Gimignano for the first time- and don’t miss the excellent video presentation. This gives a brief insight into the history of both the house and the town and helps put much of what you see later ( such as the frescoes in the duomo) into context.

Le Torri Leather Goods

LE TORRI is not only a virtual leathershop: it is a reality. If you are so lucky to have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful italian towns, San Gimignano in Tuscany, you will find our shops in the main street.Le Torri was born under the idea of collecting, producing and selling high quality artigianal leathergoods EXCLUSIVELY MADE IN ITALY, considering that our area is famous all over the world for the production of leather. This project became reality and, during the time, many people from all country visiting San Gimignano stopped in our shops to enjoy the tradition of leatherworks. For these reasons we decided to build a web site, to show everybody our fine leathergoods, so that everybody could buy them even without coming here.Of course we hope that all of you will be able, one day or another, to visit us personally and meet our kind and qualified staff showing you our items. But, you know, in the meantime...enjoy your shopping!

Travelling from Australia we were looking for leather goods that would last even if the price was higher. Previous reviews were promising and it’s a pleasure to say they were accurate. The prices were lower than leather shops in Florence and Tuscany (we visited quite a few). The leathers excellent quality, there was a large range to choose from and the craftsmanship was perfect. We were fortunate to be guided through the shop by the owner / tailor who was genuine, warm welcoming and frankly made us walk away with a lasting memories, the man made us laugh a lot. All the staff were attentive and courteous, not pushy and gave good advice. Will go there again next time we are in Italy. Go for the leather and linger for the company, you won’t regret it!!

Cappella Sant'Andrea

We had a fantastic time. The wine was delicious and generous. Caterina had good English and the setting was stunning, we looked out over the vineyard in dappled shade and felt in heaven. AND there were three gorgeous dogs who came and sat with us (we encouraged this, I'm sure they would remove them if you wanted that) but it all just gave it such a lovely, relaxed, homely feel. It felt the opposite of 'commercial' or 'big business' - a lovely, cute, family-run business in a stunning setting. We loved the wine and came away a fair few bottles! Highly recommended T x
