The Czech Republic's most famed spa destination, Karlovy Vary - or Carlsbad - saw 200 spa houses sprout by the end of the 1500s. The springs in this idyllic, lush, peaceful Tepla valley are said to cure an almanac's worth of metabolic and gastric issues. Visitors still flock to this town of Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings. Five beautiful Colonnades straddle hot springs where visitors try aquatherapy and drink the mineral-rich water. The town also has a respected international film festival.

Located on a hill overlooking the region's hottest spring, this church features an 18th century deanery.
This is a small church which was constructed by Lanac Diezenhofer. We were luck on our visit to have the opportunity to listen to a concert.

Diana is perhaps the most popular tourist attraction in Karlovy Vary. Take the funicular from colonnade street to get direct to this beautiful place incl. best famous look-out tower, 100 y. old restaurant, forest terrace, butterfly house and mini-zoo. Only in restaurant Diana you can eat surrounded by spa forests while watching our peacocks. From the look-out tower Diana you can take perfect photos of whole Karlovy Vary and surroundings. The butterfly house is a perfect goal of your trip in all weathers. On winter warm up by large fireplace in our historical restaurant, on summer surely use walking paths through the spa forests which starts right from our place. Built in the1970s with a stern communist-concrete aesthetic, the Hot Spring Colonnade (Vridelni kolonada) is nevertheless a good place to begin your visit to the springs of Karlovy Vary. Inside, vendor stands sell the two main items you need to fully experience the scene: a spa cups, in my opinion are the most beautiful in the town, and some wafer cookies Oplatki. Unfortunately, inside the glass atrium, where a natural, steaming geyser should spurts 20 feet into the air was still under reconstruction when we were in September in the town. Inside there are several sources with different temperatures and the hottest in the city at 72 degrees. Good to visit this colonnade in winter time or rainy days, this is a closed building on all sides. Outside colonnade there are wonderful souvenir shops, which also sell inexpensive Czech glass, like glasses, cups and also high-end shops with crystal, vases, chandeliers - the colonnade is located in the very center of the city. Enjoy you visit in beautiful city!

This Byzantine style Orthodox churche of Saint Peter and Paul is realy wonderful and worth to see. It has 5 gold plated cupolas and its walls are decorated with ornamental and figural ornaments. It's situated not far from the main promenade (about 1 km) but the street is very steep.

It is a beautiful wooden structure from the 19th century. Inside, there are some of the famous mineral springes of Karlovy Vary. If you have a cup, you can drink the mineral water from the springs. Cups are sold around everywhere. The access is for free all the time.
