I am a professional guide in Ghent and Bruges. Born in Russia, I came to Ghent in 1999. After years of living, studying, and working in Flanders, I can tell you a lot, if not everything, about Flemish history and architecture, local legends and traditions, festivities and everyday life. I can show you Ghent and Bruges as a local, but I am more than that. Having an intercultural background, I stay mindful about all things special and typical for Flanders, take clear notice of them, appreciate them, and show them to you as someone who does not take them for granted. If you wish not only to see the most important tourist sites Ghent and Bruges have to offer, but also to understand the inner logic of these cities and enjoy their unique atmosphere to the fullest, then my guided tours are for you. I fine-tune my stories depending on your knowledge, interests, and preferences, all while making you feel right at home. Leave all the work to me, and I promise that you will enjoy my guided tour.

In Ghent, beer brewing went hand in hand with religious life. Discover Ghent and its incredibly surprising history during a three-hour beer walk and beer tasting with guide through the city. Five beer tasting sessions and an official BeerWalk glass are included in the price. Anyone who takes part can decide, at any time during the BeerWalk tour, to have one or more beer tastings replaced by a soda of your choice. This way anyone can enjoy the beer stories and the town visit.

This municipal tower was a symbol of the city's autonomy, begun in 1313 and completed in 1380.
The belfry was a Medieval masterpiece. It was interesting to climb the spiral staircase up to the top lookout where the bells rang. We stayed to watch the clock work ring the various bells every 15 minutes. Definitely recommend staying st the top until you see the show.

Just a short stroll from central St.Michaels Bridge along each side of the quay, the range of picturesque and architectural styles are most pleasing to the eye;take along with you a descriptive guidebook,( available from the Tourist Office),and you will find interesting details of the purpose and history of the various buildings (alternatively, take the half hour informative boat trip there- currently a modest €7!)

The architecture is so beautiful along this waterway, and there are also restaurants with great water views. You can walk on either side as well as take a boat cruise.
