Quaint alpine villages and great skiing entice travelers to the Grisons. The sparsely populated region of eastern Switzerland contains the source of the Rhine and Inn rivers, 140 square miles of glaciers and dense pine forests. Join the ski action at the resorts of St. Moritz, Davos and Arosa or stake a lofty claim with a visit to Juf, which boasts the highest altitude of any inhabited village in the Alps. In summer, take a hike through the Engadine Valley in the unspoiled beauty of Swiss National Park.

Lovely walk to the glacier, and along the path you have signs letting you know how the glacier has changed over the years. Highly recommend! The food in the restaurant by the train is very good aswell!

We first discovered this valley on a hike from Muottas Muragl on the “gastronomic trail” and fell in love with this picturesque valley with views of glacier covered peaks, cattle, llamas, goats and sheep and the sounds of cowbells and mountain streams. The first time we walked on the marked Trails on either side of the valley. The second time we decided just to walk along the road to be in the floor of the valley which by the way is quite a bit shorter than the trails up on the side of the mountains. The trail to the Val Fex runs right by our hotel in the entire trail was absolutely beautiful.

Please, note that the Roman-Irish bath is a naked area and accessible only from 16 years.
We came to Bogn Engiadina Scuol on the recommendation of a friend, and what an experience and totally pleasurable way to spend an afternoon in glorious surroundings. We arrived in Scuol in a heavy snow drop and walked up to the spa as our hotel recommended booking a place. When we arrived at the spa reception there were only a few places available for the Roman Irish the next day. As the placements are timed you go through the 10 stations in privacy and it is like having the spa to yourself. For a Brit it was quite an experience, however, one we both thoroughly enjoyed and plan to make an annual occasion!! On this occasion we did not use the outdoor pool Great experience.

Popular easy walking route from either St. Moritz, Celerina or Pontresina to the lake of Staz in winter, summer and autumn. In summer, you can swim in the lake. The nearby restaurant is a hot spot during the whole year with an outside terrasse and an inside restaurant. In summer, you can rent a sun chair but the price is much too high, 90 swiss francs for the day (none of loungers was occupied when we were there).

already open for skiing on the weekend and Wednesday afternoon. As well without skiing a cool peak to enjoy the view on the glacier and get something to eat and drink. A great place to start early into the ski season:)

Excellent ending destination from our hike starting in Alp Languard - we took the Panorama Trail, which was very doable with our five year-old. Just be sure to have smaller children have good walking shoes and hold a hand in areas where there is little protection/steep inclines on side of mountain. The trail, however, is fairly flat. It took us about 4 hours including breaks. The walk could also be down in the reverse direction (Muottas Muragl-->Alp Languard and down with the chair lift). The restaurant has a wonderful playground in the back and offers a seated area restaurant as well as a self-service area with tables on a huge terrace. If you are looking for a slightly cheaper option, I would highly recommend the self-service food. The food was excellent - we had a lovely lentil soup and wurstsalat. Cake and coffee were also excellent. As others have mentioned, the scenery is magnificent looking out on the lakes of St. Moritz, Sils and Silvaplana. The ride down with the furnicular is fun and unique. An excellent outing and very much worth it - our hotel included this excursion in the card with access to all local cable cars/transport.

When skiing in the area, certainty go up Piz Nair, enjoy the view and have fun on the slope down. One of the nicest trips to make.
