Australia’s third-largest city, Brisbane is the hub of Queensland culture, offering a peek at the past and a glimpse into the future. Visit the historic Windmill and Old Commissariat Store, built by convicts in 1828, or fast-forward to the present (and beyond) with a trip to the new Gallery of Modern Art. Mingle with locals atop Mount Coot-tha, cruise the Brisbane River to South Bank’s sandy beach on the City Cat and make sure to fill the cuteness quota at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, home to koalas and kangaroos.

I’d say this is one of the best park in Brisbane. The park itself has tennis courts, tracks, lots of electric bbq, and huge playground for kids of all ages. Children can just spend hours here without getting bored at all.

Really friendly staff and great climbing on super high walls. There is fantastic selection of rope and bouldering and so much to choose from. I went as a casual visitor on my own and had a great time. There is also a functional fitness setup which looks awesome. All round brilliant day out.

I am a frequent visitor to the Gabba stadium but visited most recently during a 20/20 game. There is no better venue in Brisbane to watch sports such as the Cricket and Australian Rules Football as well as the odd special music event. Home teams are Brisbane Lions (AFL), Queensland Bulls (State Cricket), Brisbane Heat (20/20 Cricket) and the Australian Cricket team. Both Male and Female versions of the above can be playing at different times. The stadium is ageing a bit but this doesn’t detract from the spectacle and has plenty of vendors for food and drinks albeit at typical ‘stadium prices’. Facilities are in good order and again whilst ageing are as you would expect them and easy to access. Staff are generally great and happy to help and make your night safe and enjoyable. Located south of the Brisbane CBD in the suburb of Woolloongabba, the Gabba has ample public transport options but I would recommend the bus as the best option. If coming from the city it’s a scenic 40 minute stroll if you are that way inclined. Surrounded by fantastic drinking holes and eateries there is plenty to entertain you before and after an event. Great for all ages and well worth a visit. If you are a tourist and have never witnessed a AFL game definitely try and get along to a Brisbane Lions game and if you are lucky enough to be around when someone like the Collingwood Magpies come to town you will witness the crowd in full force and excitement.... if you can get a ticket. If you are interested in the Oval sports / events do yourself a favour and get along to a spectacle at the Gabba.
