I had the pleasure to tour the Pirohov Estate in the winter when I basically had the grounds to myself. The estate on its own is beautiful to walk around. The displays inside the buildings tell a story that most westerners probably do not know. I was amazed at Pirohov’s story - from entering university at a very early age to developing orthopedic aids for fracture healing and pioneering the use of anesthesia for soldiers during the Crimean war. He was a truly a fascinating man and I’m glad I learned about him. If you do not speak Ukrainian or Russian you will need a translator/guide to fully engage with the site’s exhibits. I highly recommend you visit!

A visit to the Vinnytsia Regional Lore Museum is a great way to learn about the history of Vinnytsia and the surrounding region. For westerners: this is a mix between what we’d call a natural history museum and a cultural history museum. The end result is a total picture of the Vinnytsia Oblast (e.g. state/province). If you don’t speak the language, it would be to get an interpreter/guide so you can fully appreciate exhibits. My personal favorites were some of the historical objects from around the turn of the 20th century and some of the interpretive displays about early history/settlement. Definitely worth a visit if you have more than a day in Vinnytsia!

Very interesting place for people who like cars and their components. There's also some more historical staff from sovietic times.

I loved my visit to the Vinnytsia Tram Museum in Dec. 2019. The on-site interpreter was really cool and knowledgeable but he did only speak Ukrainian and Russian. So, if you can’t speak the language, probably best to bring an interpreter. The museum shows you examples of the city’s teams from its first to the current models. You can go inside to see the interiors and driver’s compartments also. I loved the small museum on site that tells the story of Vinnytsia’s transit workers over the last 100 years or so. I loved the museum and I would definitely recommend it to others visiting Vinnytsia. PS) to the people leaving bad reviews because it was closed: that is deceptive and rude. You didn’t experience the museum so you honestly can’t review it. The bad review should go to you, the traveler, for not coordinating/planning properly. These people work hard and depend on reviews to attract visitors and you’re making that hard with your fraudulent bad reviews.
