Musée-Conservatoire de la vigne et du vin, inVINcible VIGNEron est ouvert depuis 2014, et s'est agrandi au fur et à mesure pour atteindre 1400 m² d'exposition et plus de 10.000 objets. Walked by on many occasions never thought to stop in,sure glad we did,simply an outstanding and distinctive display of the works of Dom Robert. I recognized the work,from a magazine article or a art book that I saw some years past.Just the amount of time/work that goes into a tapestry is AMAZING. Great visit,the school museum that is in the same building(same entry ticket) is so,so,and a bit of an anticlimax,so I would suggest to see that area first.

I was very impressed by this small museum. This year’s theme is embroidery and there are pieces from evening gowns and uniforms to buttons, hats, waistcoats and shoes. The clothes are in superb condition and well displayed and lit. I took two teenagers who go round most museums at a run, but they were captivated and said they’d come away with inspiration for their own projects. The shop next door is a delight and sensibly priced for vintage items. I do hope the museum can expand one day - it’s good, and more would be even better.

The mine museum of the Tarn. The last testimony on site of the coal mines in the Tarn, the mine museum brings social and technical information on the seven centuries of the coal industry. The head frame and the cage going down make you discover 350 meters of reconstructed galleries where machines and tools are shown in situation to understand better the work of the miner and his living conditions. The permanent exhibition reminds us of the social, economic history which has formed the identity of this area which is deeply impressed by the figure of Jean Jaurès. Temporary exhibitions value the environmental and industrial heritage.

Make sure you check what time the guided visit are running otherwise you have to wait till it starts. Be aware that the museum closes between 12 am till 2pm.the museum is ok but the guided tour is really good. very good place if it rains
