Muzej Cokolade Zagreb

The Chocolate Museum of Zagreb is a unique place dedicated to chocolate, its historical, geographical and cultural meaning. We will take our visitors on an interactive trip through time and space, engaging all senses - sight, scent, touch, sound and of course taste. The gift shop will carry assorted handmade chocolate from artisan Croatian chocolatiers.

This museum was excellent. First, our ticket was a rectangular box with a spoon, a cocoa bean and samples of chocolate that we had to try throughout the museum at designated spots in each of the 7 galleries. Second, it was really really well done. It traced the origins of cocoa beans, explained how they are harvested and prepared and how the beverage known as the drink of the gods by the ancient Aztec and Maya people came to Europe in the 16th century and later in the 19th century became edible in bars. Really fascinating. Our favorite place was a savoring station where you had to sample three different kinds of chocolate, white, milk, and dark, from little pumps--this is where the spoon came in handy. It was a really entertaining experience for kids too, and not just the sampling!

I can highly recommend this museum. First off all, it is very cheap (25 kuna) for students. You start the “tour” by getting a chance to win free entrance - how U must see for yourself. There is many funny stories and the staff is very friendly, and speaks great English. Go see the museum, you will not regret it.

Excellent displays which were in English and Croatian made visiting this amazing museum a pleasure. The well organized layout, uncluttered display of artifacts and well lit rooms made the tour of the building an easy and educational stop for an afternoon.

Very well executed exhibition by various technologies. Adults and children can also find interesting content. The diversity of many performance technologies gives an opportunity to gradually discover knowledge about human development. Highly professional videos present the periods of Universe. Every exhibit is briefly commented on. The texts are in Croatian, English and German. For a school trip it is better to take a guide.
