This newly renovated mansion is peacefully situated in the heart of Afife, and offers warmly decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy regional cuisine and relax in the gardens with its pool. Including an LCD TV with satellite and cable channels, the rooms and suites at Casa D' Joao Enes are decorated with colours and textures inspired by the Minho region. Each has a modern private bathroom. A rural breakfast with fresh eggs and fresh fruit is available each morning in Afife Residence's garden or dining room. Guests can relax on a sun lounger by the pool or read a book in the reading room. The modern living room has large sofas and chairs, and there is a flat-screen TV to keep track of the news. The hotel is located 10 km from Viana do Castelo and 80 km from Oporto. A shuttle service is available to Oporto Airport and Vigo Airport, both a 40-minute drive from the property. Leisure facilities nearby include a gym, spa and Turkish bath, water sports, surfing, mountain biking, golf, bird watching, hiking through the mountains or beach.
Lovely, beautiful place to relax
Reviewed By Pipsa1971Stayed few nights with my husband and really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and nicely decorated room and the other areas in the house. Peaceful and sophisticated atmosphere. Older, friendly couple around at all times and their son who speaks good English whenever there was a need. Everything was smooth and convenient what comes to checking-in/ out, even for parking they came out to the street to guide us. Breakfast was superior, not huge selection but everything was top quality. There are two good restaurants down the street from the residence. Only one piece of warning is that the residence is on a hill and there are also stairs inside so be prepared to walk a bit. There is a sufficient pool to take a short swim and lay on sunbeds. Actually it is very nice and non-windy place as the wind at the beach was pretty hard, not ideal for sunbathing. But the beach was very nice for walking to the next village for good lunch, and come back by train. And for watching the sunset!

Reviewed By do1976Mitten im Zentrum befindet sich das Hotel, dass sowohl einen schönen alten Teil besitzt(das Treppenhaus und das Oberlicht und die Stuckdecken sind spektakulär) als auch im neuen Teil tolle Zimmer. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Frühstücksangebot war reichhaltig und vielfältig. Wer mit dem Auto anreist, findet Platz in der Tiefgarage. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und thematisch nach Wassersportarten benannt und mit Fotos eingerichtet. Ein schönes Bad und kleine Aufmerksamkeiten des Hotels für den Gast runden den tollen Eindruck ab. Eine klare Empfehlung.

In the heart of a fortified town, this ancient 16th century palace, beuatifully restored, offers an exceptional view over Tuy's cathedral and the Minho valley from the heights of the citadel's walls. It has seven rooms, all uniquely decorated and with a private bathroom. More than a simple local accommodation, is a place of exception.

Reviewed By GuidontheroadWe stayed here for two nights at the start of our Camino Portugues hike; it was hard to leave. The casa is on the north side of the Forteleza looking toward Tui, Spain. It has a large parlor on the 3rd floor which has stunning views of Tui and the Rio Minho countryside. The parlor has games, chess, etc. and is ideal for happy hour or after dinner socializing. The rooms were small but very clean, neat and functional. The rooms had private baths with good showers (a key civilized backpacker requirement for us). The proprietors were friendly and attentive; we were treated like VIP guests. The breakfast was complete with choices of hot dishes cooked to order and served in a cozy formal dining room. The casa is just off the Camino and easily accessible. It is also convenient to many restaurants and shops in the Forteleza, which is worth a few hours wandering and taking in great views.

Reviewed By NacoVitralO que dizer da Quinta da Mata? O amigo Hélder tratou-nos MUITO bem. A casa era perfeita. A piscina (que tivemos a felicidade de ter só para nós) estava muito bem. O espaço no geral estava todo muito bom. O terraço para as refeições tem uma vista maravilhosa. Tudo perfeito mesmo.

Menos mal,porque no era ni cómodo para dormir(las paredes eran finas y se oía todo),ni acogedor para pasar tiempo en él. Y viendo lo que nos cobraron por unas consumiciones en la cafetería,decidimos desayunar enfrente en una cafetería llamada "Sal del Mar", buena decisión. Lo dicho, normalito, y de precio correcto.

A delicadeza da senhora Luísa em saber receber num acolhimento terno de deixar todas as manhãs pão fresco,ovos, leite, frescos, compota e bolos caseiros, casa muito cuidada, casa com muitos permenores e muito limpa. Um cuidado de quem ama as suas raízes e reviva a memória dos nossos antepassados, não deixa as tradições desaparecer. Preferia guardar só para nós tão agradável surpresa num cenário de natureza idílico, mas todo o mérito à sra. Luísa e à casa do cavaleiro. Obrigado.
