Boasting Medieval fortresses, Roman aqueducts, Mediterranean coastline, endless vineyards and expansive national parks, a visitor could spend a lifetime exploring sunny Languedoc-Rousillon. Sitting on the geographic divide between the Iberian peninsula and mainland Europe, the regions towns and cities, including beautiful Carcassonne, Nimes and Montpellier, are connected by paths both ancient and new. Hike Via Domitia, a Roman road, or rent a barge for a trip down the Canal du Midi.

I'll start with the fact that this hotel just passed a 4 star hotel. Upon entering the lobby, you will see debris from World War II. The whole ceiling is perforated and panels are missing. The furniture is worn and torn. Maybe they're from a garage sale. At the reception we were greeted by a kind lady who was the only one who spoke English. When we were accommodated in the room, we were greeted by a strange smell of feces from the toilet. The room was terribly cold, accompanied by torn sheets stained. There was mold almost everywhere in the room, including the entire air conditioner. The walls were dirty and scratched. I don't even like talking about the bathroom and toilet. There was mold everywhere again, the floor was not cleared. We left the hotel without taking advantage of the paid night. The reception apologized and promised to return the full amount for the room, which was about 80 euros. Unfortunately, without giving us any reasonable answer, our amount was not refunded at all. We wish the hotel with this 80 euros to at least renovate some of its drilled parts and clean most of the rooms, because during a covid pandemic, it is unacceptable for the rooms to be in this disgusting and disgusting state. We were extremely disappointed with the attitude of this "4 star hotel". This is the first time we have received such disgusting treatment from Booking and the hotel in question.

Castigno is off the beaten track. A well-kept secret. A place for those in the know. Luring a mix of locals and tourists from all over the world. Searching for gourmet secrets and the perfect spot to recharge their batteries, far from the noise and hassle of the city. A peaceful haven, perfumed with the scents of the Mediterranean “Guarrigue”, wild landscapes, open spaces and freedom: A place where time stands still. This picturesque and charming hamlet is found at the end of a winding road, flanked by centenarian vines and colourful houses, in the Saint Chinian wine-growing region in Languedoc. A part of the hamlet, owned by a Belgian couple has been reinvented as a hotel, with 24 refined guestrooms and suites in several different houses, and a hotel concierge proposing plenty of activities and experiences offers, is located in the former grocer.
Must Visit and Must Return! Our first stay was limited to a single night as part of a longer travel itinerary. Thus, we did not have the opportunity for fully indulge into the atmosphere of the property. However, the accommodations and features which we did enjoy (special arrival program, wonderful meal at Le Thai, delightful breakfast in the village square) are experiences that we look forward to repeating on a future and longer visit. A fantastic concept that is fully realized.

This is a charming place to stay! Our room was spacious, super clean, very efficient with plenty of places to plug in computers and applicances as needed. We had a private terrace that we enjoyed very much. Breakfast was amazing. We had endless coffee, croissants, cheese, fresh fruit, juice and even a homemade pain perdu. It is located just a short walk to the village of Peyriac. It's picture perfect. The host is super friendly and helpful, too. I will go back!

I can honestly say I have never stayed anywhere that deserves full marks more than La Maison Vintage. The rooms are large comfortable, decorated with care and attention to detail and a love of the best of the 1970’s and 1980’s The hosts are incredibly welcoming, a drink in the beautiful garden on arrival, a quick orientation session, very knowledgeable and helpful, really go the extra mile to help and ensure an enjoyable stay. Lovely breakfast in the garden. the house is filled with fascinating items, everywhere you look there is something of interest, I spent the whole 3 days smiling.

Rooms are very tiny and no space to move, furniture are old and in bad condition, chairs are broken. We found bugs in the bed. Bathroom is very small, shower cabinet has cracks that make the water leaks every time after taking a shower and makes ground of the bathroom and the bedroom full of water and no way to make it dry except by opening the windows and waiting the ground to become dry again. The kitchen is also very small and not enough utensils, me and my husband we had only one spoon, we requested the missing utensils many times from the hotel but they didn't provide. Worst of all, the hotel manager who is not willing to help and giving orders to hotel stuff to not provide the residents with the necessary supplies (soaps, dishes liquids, etc.). In general, a very bad experience and do not recommend any one to go there.
