A mixture of forested mountains, alpine peaks, wildflower meadows, deep river canyons, and high plains deserts, Idaho is a paradise for golf, skiing, fly fishing, and river rafting. Boise, the capital, is the state's largest city and airline hub. North of Boise are golf, lake, and ski resorts from McCall in the south to Sandpoint and Coeur D'Alene in the north. East of Boise are the ski slopes of Ketchum and Sun Valley. East of Sun Valley are Craters of the Moon National Monument, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and the small town of Island Park just across the border from Yellowstone National Park. Boise's Basque Museum and Cultural Center reflects having the largest Basque population in the U.S. Reflecting Idaho's diverse heritage, near the Idaho Historical Museum in Boise's Julia Davis Park is the Idaho Black History Museum's chronicle of the slave York who served the Lewis & Clark Expedition. After a family visit to the Peregrine Fund's World Center for Birds of Prey and an outdoor performance at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, the next stop after Boise is likely to be Payette Lake in McCall or Sun Valley and Ketchum. About 100 miles north of Boise, past Cascade Lake, McCall takes you to the shores of Payette Lake. Go golfing, fishing, hiking, biking, waterskiing, sailing, boating, or whitewater river rafting. Ski or snowshoe Brundage Mountain or Tamarack Resorts, as well as Ponderosa State Park in winter. Ice skate year-round at Manchester Ice & Event Centre. About 450 miles north of Boise, there are resort lakes near skiing and golf at Coeur d'Alene, Hayden Lake, and Sandpoint. Golf, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, and hunting are popular in Sun Valley and Ketchum. Sockeye salmon may no longer do much spawning in Redfish Lake, but the boating and mountain scenery in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area make the short trip north to Stanley worthwhile. When the snows come the whole family will head for the slopes of Soldier Mountain, Bald Mountain, Dollar Mountain, or the Sun Valley Resort. A tiny forested town of about 250 people, Island Park has a large reservoir with fishing and boating, as well as Henry's Fork of the Snake River for fly fishing. It's only 15 miles from Yellowstone as well.

Warm up to our expanded hot breakfast menu. Omelets, bacon and mini waffles have joined our long list of morning favorites including fresh fruit, Chobani® Greek yogurt and sweet breads. It's just what you need for a delicious start to your day.
I have spent many nights at Marriott Fairfield Inns and this is the Fairfield yet. I was here in the early summer (2022) and the rates were great then. The Inn is new and that really sets it apart. It is super clean. I recommend a room on the third floor away from the street.

Kilgore Mountain Hideaway B&B's lodge and cabin are surrounded by trees and mountain meadows and located in the secluded Arrowwood Subdivision. Both have common sitting areas with satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room for guests's use, fire pits and BBQ grill. There are a total of 8 bedrooms in the lodge and 3 in the cabin. Lodge has a pool table. Wifi throughout.
For the price, location and amend offered. Great place from comfy bed, free breakfast, nice living and games, and only a 45 minute drive to Yellowstone west entrance. If definitely stay here again if in the area. You have a private room yet have the opportunity to meet others in the house if you'd like.

Clean, modern rooms with great facilities. Lots a space and a nice common area. Gentlemen w/tattoos was very kind checking us in and made us feel welcomed. Room smelled a little of food, but to be expected since this is an extended stay. We stayed one night but would have been very happy to stay longer. Clean, well lit area with plenty of parking. Will come back again!

The Rankin Motel is a family run operation that has been in business since 1924 when it was started as an Auto Court. We have cabins and motel rooms available for rent. We are a seasonal business open from April 11th through October, located within 60 miles of the West entrance to Yellowstone Park and 70 miles from Jackson, Wyoming.
The Rankin is old, but very clean. It was nice to come in at the end of the day to find the trash emptied, fresh towels, coffee/shampoo/etc. restocked (for six straight days). Haven't seen this since Covid hit. Most motels are using it for an excuse not to clean your room. It brought back memories of staying at my grandparents. Can't beat it for the money!

As a first visit to Sun Meadow, my husband and I couldn't have been treated better by the owners and their personable efficient volunteer staff. The food was good and very reasonably priced. Accommodations were comfortable in our rented RV. They also have well appointed rooms with balconies in their lodge. The office, bathrooms, pool and patio area and first floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. There is a sauna, hot tub and two heated pools...outside and indoor... both comfortably warm. There are hiking trails, children's activities, and sports such as pickle ball, bocce, shuffle board, volley ball and others. Weekend entertainment and socials are very enjoyable. Overall, this is a great place to visit with friendly folks and lots to do...or just relax and read in one of their comfy recliners !

I had to cancel my reservation and have called the property over 10+ times. Have yet to hear back from them. I consider this very poor customer relations and unprofessional. Will never book or try to book again with them.

We’ve spent a week at this incredible place in Feb 2021. The Chateau was beyond our wildest expectations. It’s such an amazing place, done with so much love for the detail. We loved every minute of our stay!

Step back in time and experience history in our former bordello, Lux Rooms. The two-story brick building has been converted into seven boutique hotel rooms. The bordello operated illegally yet openly for nearly a century before closing in the late 1980s. Our halls and rooms honor the women who worked here by telling their stories and documenting their contribution to the town's past. Join us for a unique stay in historic Wallace, ID.
Stayed here last night. Now I can tell friends that I stayed in a bordello. Filled with tasteful history and respect for the ladies of the night. I was trying to remember one night in my entire life that I stayed at a corporate owned motel. I could not remember any single experience. I believe I will remember this night the rest of my life because it's uniqueness and the tasteful tribute to American history in the West. This is a privately owned mom and pop owned place. The owners are friendly and considerate. The entire town of Wallace is a setting from 1920. Truly unique opportunity to immerse yourselves in the history of the West.

Situated along the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway (Highway 21), The Gold Mine Hotel, is a short walk from historical Idaho City. We've been renovating all year and have finally opened all 7 rooms. Each room is decorated in outdoor theme decor. We are next door to the famous Gold Mine Grill & Saloon!
What can I say that hasn't been said about this gem already?! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Bear Room which is pretty much self explanatory. I'm from S. Florida where life is fast paced and the locals are known to be rude (unfortunately), so I was a little nervous about our first night in Idaho. That anxiety was short lived because Steven and his staff at Gold Mine were absolutely amazing. We walked in at the bar, sat down, and right away I knew my boyfriend and I stood out like a sore thumb.. we're outsiders so it was expected. But it was okay because this one bold but charming, honorable man came to our table and broke the ice. That man was Steven. Once at our table.. everyone else followed; and by the end of the night we were all like family. Thank you sir, for your hospitality! I'll never forget it. For those of you reading reviews... I promise this one is it. Our experience here at Gold Mine was unlike any other. The room (omg the bed is sooooo comfy!), the staff, the venue, the food and drinks, everything and everyone made the start of our adventure so very special.
