TONOHIME is a women's only hostel located in central Fukuoka, you can walk to all the major hot spot in Fukuoka City, such as Tenjin, Hakata, Nakasu. Guarantee your stay will be super fun and memorable. Also, you an enjoy international interaction with guests from the world and bilingual staff. Our bedding is also something we are proud of, enjoy its quality!
I stayed there 1 night. It was a bit hard to find. The staff was nice. The dorms are really clean. The beds are comfy and cosy. The washrooms were also clean. It is aproximately a 10-15 minutes walk to the city center. I felt very safe in this hostel, and the price is adequate for what you get.

While I didn't stay at this facility I did enjoy the festival they have in July each year which starts in the day as giant floats and then they are transformed into lantern pyramids as dusk approaches. They have been having this event annually since 1802.

I’ve stayed at a few capsule hotels before and this was my least favorite. At first it seems nice, but there is only one toilet for each floor and that is simply not enough. I was on a top bunk and I found it externally difficult and almost scary to climb into. I had to put the sheets on the bed myself, including pillow case and comforter and being on the top while standing on the ladder made that very difficult. They don’t include amenities like a toothbrush, you have to pay extra. This is the first capsule hotel or any in Japan I have stayed in that didn’t include a toothbrush. The area where people blow dry their hair is in the main area, so it was really loud when I was trying to sleep. There’s no where really to store your stuff here either. Most people have their suitcases outside their bunk on the ground in the hall. I don’t like this because I don’t feel comfortable with it there when I leave for the day. Yes the floors are locked, but anyone on this floor can peep into your things. The capsules don’t lock and there are no lockers so it’s out in the open. There is a small safe but it’s really not big enough to put much in, so I guess you have to just trust no one will go through your clothes while you are out. I wouldn’t stay here again.

This has been one of my best experiences in Japan. This is a only-male capsule hotel. The staff was very friendly and they provided me a locker since I checked-in early. The hotel is very located, it is close to canal city, and you can veto to Hakata and Tenjin station by a 10 min bus trip or even by foot. The capsules are enough for one person (I am 1.8 m tall and I could fit inside) and you have a small TV and radio with a personal headphone to avoid disturbing your "neighbors". Bathroom, showers and small onsen (or ofuro) are public. You can find in every floor complementary tea, water and coffee service. There is also one restaurant at the ground floor but you can try Japanese food (Fukuoka'a ramen is vey famous) close to canal city or besides the river. One thing that I really like about Japanese hotels is that they provide you toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, razor and this hotel is not the exception. If you don't mind to have no privacy then this would be the place for you. I traveled with my male friends and this hotel was part of our experience in Fukuoka.

Staying overnight without meals costs is ¥3600.
