Felt welcomed at this decently-sized hot spa with equally friendly restaurant manager adjacent to it. We used gestures and visual speak to communicate with the staff. Surprised to find spa suminoe signs within the train station telling you which exit to take and how to find it. There was ongoing renovation beside the sports complex but with the English signs was not a problem finding it. Past TA reviewers mention the layout of the place but to clarify a few details. As you step through the first set of doors on your right is a place to remove your shoes. Carry your shoes to the lockers ahead of you and choose one witha key. After placing your shoes, close the door and to remove the key, insert a refundable 100 yen coin into the slot. Keep the key. Turn right down the corridor which opens into a spacious hall where there's a toilet on your right. In the middle are places for you to rest. On your left is the counter for massages, foot reflexology etc. Unfortunately there was only 1 person who could do a massage at the time and you had to wait for another hour for your turn. Then the counter staff comes out and helps us to feed payment into a machine kiosk. The massage room, with many beds, is on the left of the hall and you are fully clothed. Across the hall, on the right is a long counter where staff were folding towels. This is where you pay or in our case, show our amazing osaka pass for free entry. We visited on a weekday just after lunch to avoid the crowd if any. We brought our own towels. In the changing room, again we inserted a refundable 100 yen coin to remove the locker key which you wear around your wrist. When you're ready to bare all, head to the sliding doors to go to the indoor hot pools. Look right and you'll see the stools and bathing stations. There are also 2 Western-style shower cubicles for those who aren't able to sit on the low stools. Once you have cleansed yourself, you're free to immerse yourself in any of the pools. There's another sliding door to go outside. The centre pool there is very hot but nice during winter. We explored an enclosed room and found the salt sauna where you rub salt from the container onto yourselves and sit there for the salt to melt. A friendly elderly Japanese lady showed us how to use it when I gestured to the salt. Following her example we used the cold water to hose down where we sat for the next person and exited another door to find a shower stand. After 2 hours we returned to the shower stations before changing. The spa sells yummy yoghurt which you pay at the spa staff counter. Next door you'll see the restaurant with picture menus and the food is delicious and affordable. Complimentary iced green tea and water is DIY at the dispenser station. Just check with the restaurant manager which button to press for green tea.

Located in the downtown area, CrossFit MINAMI was the first CrossFit gym to open in Osaka, Japan. Opening in early 2015 with a goal to lead its members to a lifestyle of power and health. With coaches, members and drop-ins from all over the world, CrossFit MINAMI is home to both local Japanese and international people. All classes are held in English and Japanese as well as adaptable to suit any fitness level.
Was getting in a couple of cf sessions while on 2 week vacation before the Open. Central location near Namba. Showers on site but need to bring own towel. Friendly trainer. 4 other local expats in the class. Pretty flexible on letting me stay afterwards to use open gym without additional charge. Coolest part is they collect t-shirts from drop-ins around the world. These are displayed as you walk downstairs to the box.
