I found Origin Yoga through Tripadvisor and I thought I should return the favor for good karma. I completed the 6 day retreat package and walked away feeling very happy that I chose to go on the adventure in Taiwan. The location is beautiful, and the retreat is situated just across from the ocean. It's an undiscovered hideaway. The accommodations are situated in an abandoned condo complex, and hosts amazing views of the ocean. The building itself can be a bit intimidating at first, but the wonderful views and experiences from the retreat helps you to forget about the condition of the building. The rooms are spacious and you have access to a wonderful shared common area that is the living room and kitchen. The retreat was such a great experience due to the creativity and love put behind everything by the founder Lydia. All of the activities were chosen specially for the retreat and made through her personal contacts--needless to say, they were one of a kind and felt very special. It was something that I wouldn't have been able to experience on my own. The healthy and delicious meals are vegetarian and made specially for the guests in house. The yoga teacher, Yoanna is warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this retreat for anyone who is looking for a more intimate yoga retreat experience that is truly one of a kind. You will leave feeling clear, and rejuvenated.

We went to Wulai looking for the public hot springs which don't seem to be around anymore and so ended up at Yen Town, which looked like the most modern, interesting and inviting hot spring in the old street. We were definitely not disappointed and spent almost three hours there. They have private baths as well as communal pools, and we chose the latter. The environment is clean and spacious with several pools of different temperatures and designs, including an open air cold pool. The scenery is also nice as the communal pools look out into the surrounding hills. The children had great fun moving from pool to pool. They provide towels and swim caps. Don't forget to bring your swimming costumes as they are compulsory in the communal pools. Otherwise they also sell swimming costumes and trunks. Upon arrival a lady will brief you on how to use the pools including reminding you to take a shower and wash your feet before entering the pools. This is a place I would highly recommend if you are in Wulai. It is located along the main Wulai old street, near the museum and so is quite easy to find.
