Balnea is a fabulous SPA niched in the Pyrenees with fantastic views of the range of mountains. Even though it's May, peaks of mountains are still covered with snow. In the SPA, there is a series of basins to try out from Roman, Japanese, Inca, Amerindian offering variations of soothing water turbulence. Massages, esthetic services and more are also available by appointment only. Entrance fee is 19 euros for two hours of heavenly aquatic body and mind experience. This was one of the most amazing experiences, sitting in the hot spa outside with snow falling, and the mountains all around! A must-do, especially to ease your aching muscles after a day/week of skiing. There is a large indoor area with various bubbles and jets, a very hot pool and a kids area, and an outdoor spa pool (accessed from inside within the water so you don’t get cold) with different zones for relaxation, jacuzzis, river etc. It was great to be able to go somewhere like this as a family and my children (9 and 4) absolutely loved it too. It’s quite expensive, and you get only 2 hours to include changing, showers etc, but totally worth it. If you are an adult skier you can add it to your ski pass for the day for an extra €11 which is a great saving. Bring waterproof flip-flops and towels, and no shorts for men - standard in France.
