Cortona has become very popular several years ago thanks to the book by Frances Mayes, Under the Tuscan Sun (and the movie with Diane Lane) which is set in Cortona; the protagonist immediately falls in love with the town, its people, and villa Bramasole that she purchases and fixes up.

We had a fascinating morning with Alessandra, exploring Assisi and learning about its history. It's such a beautiful place, and Alessandra made it come alive for us. The 'Umbria con me' attention to detail was superb, and booking lunch for us at a local restaurant afterwards was a lovely touch.

Only 7 people and the tour was by Van. The driver guided us during the drive but no guide joined us at our stop in Castellina. Professional presentations at the wineries. Especially at Poggio Amorreli with Andrea where we were treated with Spumante, one white and two red Chianti and one supertuscan. We also got bread, cheese, salami with their own balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The driver called for a taxi upon arrival in Florence ????

We wished we could see Pope Francis but we could never expected we could see him so closely thanks to Rossana great effort. Rossana and our driver Luigi are both great persons and the visit to the Pope very well organized. They both were professional, supportive, engaging and very helpful. Rossana took really a great effort to make the visit tailored to our needs and she had great sense of humour. Big thanks to R and L. We would highly recommend this tour.

This was our 2nd private tour that we did through Uniquetuscany (2017/2020). Our guide, Alessandro was very specific to the covid restrictions and offered us new masks during the day! He did a wonderful job explaining the history of the towns. Our highlight was the visit to Tuscany organic farm where we had our lunch with amazing view. We stopped at Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa. There was a lot of walking and moving from in and out of the minivan so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. I definitely recommend this tour while visiting Florence since you get a lot of history while on the minivan to each town. Just not enough time in all the towns but 10 hours is a long day! still worth the trip! Highly recommended..

The only authentic wine tour in Lucca. Two wineries. Two different ways of making wines, different opinions, and different methods, but united by the same aim: producing the best wine of Lucca. I will pick you up at your accommodation with my van, and I will drive you through the hills of Tuscany. For every winery we will visit the cellar where you will discover all the secrets about Tuscan wine, thanks to the explanations and the life stories of the farmers. Than, you will taste 3 wines of the production. Every wine will be matched with products from the garden and some specialties, like finocchiona or pecorino cheese, plus a final dessert... a dip in the Tuscan table culture! You won't be hungry :) "It's not just drinking wine: we want to make you know the real Tuscany and to tell you the story of our roots" N.B.: ! The price includes the transportation and the guided tour, but not the cost of the tastings: you will pay 15€ per person at every winery, directly on the spot !
Inclusions: Private transportation, Guided Tour on the hills of Tuscany, Bottled water
Exclusions: Snacks, Alcoholic Beverages
We used Tommaso for a ladies trip to Tuscany in September. He provided airport transfers to and from Pisa to our hotel in Florence as well as a half day tour in Chianti with some stops for wine tasting. Tommaso and his colleague were punctual, extremely friendly and helpful, spoke very good English and offered very competitive rates. I would recommend him to anyone needing transport in the area. Thank you for a brilliant few days!

Tour Date: THURSDAY, 2nd May 2019 (The date required by Tripadvisor doesn't go back before Covid times)... My guide, Diletta arrived at our meeting point at the elected time. No one else joined the tour which was great; I could practise my Italian and ask lots of questions. From the train station, we walked past the majestic city walls and enjoyed a view of Lucca before diving into local life. Our first food stop was in a local bakery. My mouth watered as we entered Pizza da Felice. First tasting, Cecina (che chen a); a wonderful tasty light chick pea flatbread, best eaten hot. Next, a slice of pizza washed down with a glass of Melotti beer; now under the name of the Dutch Heineken umbrella. Piazza Antelminelli was our next stop and the site of the beautiful Romanesque marble Cattedrale di San Martino. The Cathedral was built during the 6th century, at that period the most central and important areas were already too congested, hence it’s unusual location. At first glance the square appears a bit devoid of character with its wide-open spaces and different architectural styles and buildings from different eras, but wait and you will soon feel how the Duomo emanates a soft tranquillity. We then headed to a favourite local spot: San Michele in Foro Square. This is where locals come to meet up with one another, typically for a friendly chat in a nice coffee bar. Located in the centre is Chiesa di San Michele in Foro, a Roman Catholic basilica church. It is built over the ancient Roman forum. Until 1370 it was the seat of the Consiglio Maggiore (Major Council), the commune's most important assembly. It is dedicated to Archangel Michael. Lucca’s locals love going for Aperitivo after work, meeting with friends and spending a few hours indulging in a glass of good wine and some savoury snacks. And because this tour is all about showing me how the locals live, we stop at an old vineria called Vinarkia Della Pavona della sophi s.n.c. This is a small wine bar typical of the Tuscan tradition. It was pleasant sitting in the outside courtyard, chatting to Diletta. She made it feel like friends hanging out while also giving great information about Lucca. The glass of Vermentino and the generous Aperitivo were equally enjoyable. Our third stop was the Farmacia located in Piazza San Michele. In 1855, this beautiful Art Nouveau pharmacy was the scene of Doctor Pasquale Massagli’s new concoction, a quina elixir named China Massagli. It is prepared with cinchona bark, which arrives directly from the Amazon rainforest. The bark is put to macerate in pure alcohol and decalcified water, together with aromatic herbs and officinal roots. After a long period, during which it is emulsified and filtered twice, the elixir is ready to be consumed, even in long drinks with ice, both as an aperitif and a digestif. We continued through the city as she pointed out the history of the towers and all that Lucca has to offer. Lastly, we stopped in the beautiful square for our final Aperitivo. After a few minutes of walking through the attractive streets, we reached Amphitheatre Square, the only oval square in Italy that takes the place of the typical Roman amphitheatre. We stopped here at Bollicina, finally relaxing with a glass of Monte Carlo Rossi Dating back to the year 846, and of course, a side of pepper, prosciutto, pecorino cheese chicken liver pate and mushroom pate.

I had a wonderful experience at the Uffizi Gallery with my guide Irina. I thought the 49 euro ticket was extreeemely good value for what was provided, I was able to skip the queue and Irina provided a huge amount of information. She was engaging and enthusiastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Furthermore, Irina emailed me on all of the information that she had mentioned afterwards, so I have the memories and stories of the Uffizi Museum with me forever now. I would highly recommend a tour with Irina! (I was here over a year ago in July 2018!)

" What a wonderful introduction to Florence! Gianni went beyond our expectations as a foodie guide. Firstly he met us outside our accommodation and walked us to the start of the tour giving us insight to the streets of Florence along the way. He was so knowledgeable about the local history and shared this with us. He was happy to stop and let us take photos over the whole tour. The food places we visited were amazing! Gianni has a personal history with most of the store owners and introduced us as if we were his family. We were made to feel so welcome and spoilt at every destination. From local markets to an exquisite wine cellar and gelatos to finish, this tour had it all! I highly recommend this tour to everyone who loves food and as a great introduction for first time visitors to Florence. Love this city and we loved Gianni! Thank you! From Michele, Kaitlin and Natalie from Australia July 2019 "
