Sean was awesomely the best of the bestest - very highly recommended!!! We toured Valparaiso and Vina del Mar with him, and he dropped us off at Santiago for our cruise embarkation the following day. That was our first trip to South America - our pre-cruise tour, as we cruised Chile, Antarctica, Falkland Islands, Argentina, Uruguay - still so many places to explore in this area. We will definitely come back, and use Sean's company again...

Chile is well-known for its outstanding wines. Some of them can even compete with French wines. But Chilean Signature Wines are still unknown by many. Author wines don’t follow protocols. They look for different methods, aromas, and flavors. This exclusive tour around Colchagua Valley will allow you to see wine with new eyes and taste it with a new palate. We’ll visit 3 vineyards: Fundador, Don Clemente, and RC Viñedos. 1.- The tour will take an exclusive group of 2 to 8 people. 2.- It will last around 11 hours. 3.- Tour available Saturdays and Sundays. 4.- To schedule tours on Mon-Fri please ask in advance.
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, All Fees and Taxes

There was chaos in arrivals & we were approached by an official looking chap who had all the correct id, had our name on his list & knew which hotel we were transferring to; there were 3 'assisting' us - they had a very smart mini bus. They insisted we had to pay a "road poll charge". To cut a long story short - they got our debit card & withdrew two lots of £200 from our account. With the help of the lovely staff at the Intercontinental Hotel we managed to put a stop on our card pretty quickly. Our Bank was not surprised at what happened - they said Santiago Airport is notorious for this type of activity. So be very sure your taxi or transfer is official - be vigilant to the point of rudeness if necessary!

We had a pleasure of Waldo being our tour guide driving and showing us around Valparaiso. We had 2 children that are still young, so flexibility of the schedule is a must and Waldo is very flexible and intuitive of our needs. He even prepared desserts, drinks, fruits, you name it, he brought them with him so we have a pleasant day through out the day, as most of the restaurants is still closed during Phase 2. He even brought our bags along and carried them securely,to prevent robbery. Thank you Waldo for being very patient with us and waited until we had great photo for our Instagrams. We really recommend him!

We took this tour last year. The guide doesn’t speak English at all, and keep repeating the same information over and over. They also don’t let you move and ask you to be next to them all the time. Amazing place but awful guide

Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.
Our tour consists of visiting two or three vineyards of your choice; Lapostolle is a vineyard of French tradition located on one of the slopes of the Apalta Valley. It was founded by Alexandra Marnier and Cyril de Bournet in 1994 and since its existence it has been characterized by its exclusivity. For its part, Montes vineyard is one of the most modern in the valley. Famous for the design of angels on their bottles, their wines are made to enchant the spirit. Viu Manent, meanwhile, has varied activities, ranging from horseback riding to participating in the harvest season. Without doubt, it is an enotouristic center, of which its restaurant, Rayuela Wine & Grill, stands out and has received the Certificate of Excellence on Tripadvisor for four consecutive years. Finally, another vineyard we recommend to visit is Casas Silva, which has the oldest winery in Colchagua. We invite you to delight in its surroundings and to taste its premium category wines, beside the polo field.

On a Sunday night our concierge at the Hotel Magnolia made a call to Hernan at American Fun Travel. They set up a private tour at Casa del Bosque and lunch overlooking the ocean at Castillo del Mar. Hernan made so easy, we climbed into the private car and just sat back and enjoyed. If you are in Santiago and you are going to do a private tour this is the company to use,
Be a distinguished protagonist of one of the most exclusive wine experiences in Chile while visiting 2 of the most awarded Chilean wineries worldwide, and discover why Colchagua Valley is considered to be the birthplace of Chile´s iconic wines. Located 150 kms from Santiago, we will start our tour visiting Lapostolle Winery, where Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband decided to create a world-class wine project back in 1994. Their work has been acknowledged with great achievements such as their Clos Apalta, recognized in more than two occasions as the Chile´s best icon wine, and its 2004 vine stock as the "best in the world according to WineSpectator (2008)", and 5th place among 16,000 wines for their 2014 strain in the 2017 list... surely a must experience. After wine tasting in a spectacular underground winery in Viña Lapostolle, we will head to Montes Winery, owned by the so-called "Mr. Chilean Wine”, Aurelio Montes. This spectacular and imposing winery is located in a beautiful territory which you can explore in an ingenious guided tour on the slopes of the hills that surround this exclusive sub-valley called Apalta. While in Montes Winery, you can´t miss the opportunity to have lunch at the famous Fuegos de Apalta restaurant, lead by the world-acclaimed chef Francis Mellman, an expert hand on meats, finishing off this entire wine experience that you will surely remember forever. Rely on our specialized guides that will take you to Colchagua Valley Experience.

We of course enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the rugged, snow covered mountains and the flat, green valleys, but what made the trek particularly enjoyable was our guide, Esteban, who had extensive knowledge of the geology and the wildlife, as well as the history of the region. He spent most of the time talking, either answering our questions or just explaining the things we were seeing. It was like a National Geographic tour. And although, sadly, the air was still and therefore we did not see any condors, we were very happy with the trek.

We were looking forward to this tour and visiting Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Tour guide arrived 1/3 late because of ‘traffic’. When we got on the bus only two single seats available. The old bus was too crowded with 15 people on board. The seats were fit for children, not adults. Patched up sun roof held together with tape. One person had to sit between the driver and tour guide! Very uncomfortable. We stopped at a roadside tourist wine tasting/cafeteria/gift store for 1/2 hr. This was 20 min into the trip. The tour of Valparaíso was good as we walked a lot of streets. We were taken to two places in Viña del Mar. One a little garden as you drive into town and the second a statue from Easter Island. We were dropped off at a restaurant for 1-1/2 hrs and then waited another 20 min for the driver and tour operator to return. Way too long and a waste of time for lunch (at our expense).
