Eduardo is a passionate, knowledgeable and fun tour guide. From the pick up and driving through Quito on the way to Mindo Cloud Forest he provided so much great information on the Ecuadorian culture, indigenous history, food, topography, wildlife and more. Some highlights included the visiting the Alambi Hummingbird Reserve, ziplining across Mindo Cloud Forest, hiking to the waterfalls and tons of Ecuadorian chocolate and food. Eduardo, you have a friend for life! Gracias hermano.

We spent three very full days with Felipe seeing the sites of Quito. I can't say enough positive things about him. He is very passionate about what he does. His English was good and he worked really hard to show us lots of exciting things about his country. Our first day was a Quito city tour. We hit the highlights (equator monument, teleferiqo, old town). Day two we went to see the condors and hike a lake near Antisana Volcano. This was simply amazing. Seeing these amazing endangered vultures was really memorable. Finally on day three he took us to Mindo where we hiked, saw the butterfly farm, saw how chocolate is made. I can't imagine going to Quito and not hiring Felipe to show you these amazing sights. After our last day touring he dropped us off at our hotel near the airport as we were leaving for Galapagos early in the am. Can't say enough great things about this tour guide, driver, ice hockey player! A special guy!

Great tour overall. It is shopping intensive and great for those looking to buy a lot of local and leather goods. Our guide was great and gave us plenty of time at each stop. The tour does have quite a bit of time on the road but the views are lovely. The lagoon was quite popular and a great place to take pictures. I would do this tour again if I was with someone who liked to shop for local handicrafts, leather goods, and unique gift items.

We set off from Quito for Cotopaxi National Park in the morning, stopping briefly at Hacienda El Porvenir to relax and have a drink. We continue on to the Park (3,600m.) And cross the páramo plains where we will eventually reach the car park (4,500m.) Below the climbing hut. From here, we begin to hike up to the hut (or “refuge” in Spanish) José Ribas at 4,800m. (15,744 ft), and come face-to-face with the imposing, snow-clad Cotopaxi volcano. After descending from the Refugio, we will continue on to Limpiopungo Lake and be served a delicious packed lunch. After lunch, we get back in the vehicle and drive across gorgeous landscapes as far as the Pucará del Salitre, an ancient Inca fortress on the route to the Amazon basin. We will arrive at Hacienda El Porvenir where you can access Apu Mountain SPA wet area with no extra cost. Then we will return to Quito. (Packed lunch).
