We took a 12 day private tour of Ireland with Little Gem back in 2019 and it was the best travel experience of our lives. We were an extended family of 12 and had all generations of travellers. Little Gem provided a perfect experience from the start. Private tour planner Rosie worked with us on every detail of our travels and customized the perfect tour for us. Our driver guide was incredible and knew all the best spots to take us away from the tour coaches. Each night we stayed in amazing local accommodations including some very swanky 5* castles as well as a lovely farm stay and B&B's. We would highly recommend Little Gem Private Tours of Ireland!!

Unfortunately due to COVID, our trip to IRELAND was canceled. However, I still wanted to leave a review to give praise to Eamonn. He was so incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and kind during all of our correspondence. I would recommend him just based on his honesty and integrity, he returned our deposit plus supplied me with websites to gain more information for our trip. I can't wait to get to Dublin to meet him and rely on his expertise to see the country. He made the trip planning seamless and stress-free! 5 stars well deserved.

Meet your host Anthony, a charming Irishman with a dry sense of humor at his traditionally-inspired modern smokehouse for your tour and tasting of their award-winning smoked foods. The Ummera smokehouse smokes organically farmed salmon fished from the west coast of Ireland and grown to the highest standards. You will learn about how Anthony cures his salmon using the wet curing process, the same process his father started with in the seventies! Discover how oak sawdust renders a smooth and lovely flavor to their smoked salmon, before you sit down at a farm table outdoors (weather permitting) to taste a variety of their smoked foods, including their smoked duck which won a 3-star gold award! Your smokehouse tour will last about 45 minutes before you enjoy a tasting of smoked salmon and meats at Ummera.  Your tasting will be paired with three locally crafted ciders, from a dry sparkling to a sweet cider, all produced by Anthony's brother-in-law at Stonewell Cider.

Inclusions: Private smokehouse tour and tasting with your host Anthony, Locally crafted cider pairing (3 kinds), All taxes, fees and handling charges, Gratuities, Snacks, Alcoholic Beverages

7. Wicklow Scenic and Musical History Coach Tour

Stephen's Green Nth, stop 790, Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland Oisin Costello

I am Wicklow born and bred and have a keen interest in my county's cultural heritage. I am an opera trained singer and traditional Irish musician. This tour is about learning Wicklows heritage through the songs depicting the stories.. from lands taken with deception, violence and guile, 1,000s deported for trivial crimes to build the colony of Australia, severely affected famine locations, evictions, estate owners availing of the famine to remove unwanted tenants and "square" their estates. I have staged Musical History events in Kilruddery House and Wicklow Jail and staged Living Dublin 1916 for RTE featuring classical, choral and traditional Irish music. I look forward to taking you on a musical history tour with songs and stories at Wicklows most iconic scenic locations.

We were a small group of three with Mary G as our walking tour guide of Killarney. While we all had been in Killarney a few times over the years, this was our first time actually taking a walking tour there. It was well worth it as Mary gives insights into the town’s history and heritage that only a local will know. She was born and schooled in Killarney so she really shares her passion for her home town. As Mary has lived in France and Italy, she is very capable of putting the stories of Killarnye in a European context. So it was really interesting also to hear her stories of what French and Europeans enjoy about Killarney. It’s only when you take a tour with Mary that you see and discover things are only known to locals; interesting insights into medieval laneways, hidden architectural gems and a fabulous walk through the environs of Killarney House and National Park. We enjoyed the glorious gardens, fantastic views over the lakes and even saw deer grazing in nearby paddocks. When you have a few spare hours, a walking tour of Killarney Town with Mary G is highly recommended.

9. Shore excursion from Cobh to Blarney & Kinsale

Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland Guided Tours With Mary G

Visit Blarney. Option to visit the famous Blarney Castle where you can kiss the Blarney Stone in order to have 'the gift of the gab' bestowed upon you. . . . . . . . or maybe you don't need it? You could just enjoy a visit to the castle gardens. Another option is the famous 'Blarney Woollen Mills' adjacent to the castle, which are hugely popular. Continue to Kinsale for lunch - the gourmet capital of Ireland by the sea, with its yacht-filled marina, narrow winding streets and brightly painted galleries. Visit to Ringfinan 9/11 memorial garden. Return to Cobh for a visit before returning to the ship.

Inclusions: Private transportation, Air-conditioned vehicle

Exclusions: Admissions

10. Boyne Valley, Meath - Private Shore Excursion

Dublin Shore Excursions

The Boyne Valley is to Irish people what Israel is to Christians. The Boyne Valley is historically the most important part of Ireland. On this tour you’ll be taken back through the mists of Ireland’s ancient history, spanning over 5,000yrs to visit Newgrange (an ancient passage tomb older than the Pyramids), The Hill of Tara (the old capital of Ireland), Slane (where St. Patrick secured his legacy), Monasterboice Monastery (famed for its elaborately carved High Crosses) and Trim Castle (a mighty spectacle from the 12th century). Why people love this tour: 1. Walk into a tomb that’s over 5000 years old and be moved by its majesty & mystery. 2. Stand atop the Hill of Tara (Ireland’s historic cultural, spiritual and political capital), contemplating its huge significance whilst peering at Ireland’s endless verdant stretches before you. 3. The myths, legends and histories of St. Patrick, ancient Gaelic Kings, battles and societies open up a whole world that you never knew existed.
