Savona [saˈvoːna] listen (help·info) (Ligurian: Sann-a [ˈsaŋːa] is a seaport and comune in the northern Italian region of Liguria, capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea.

Santa lucia's Church was build in 1436. It is easily reachable by the cruise harbour (by appointment). Here you can find two "casse", wood monuments with are brought during the good Friday parade: "Judas kiss" and "Coronation of thorns"

The fortress is free to visit on the outside and definitely worth a visit for the panoramic view and beautiful medieval atmosphere. Even on a cloudy rainy day, it still felt very enjoyable. There are some inside museums as well if you want to spend more time understanding the history of the place.
