Sprawling tea plantations surround the serene hills of Munnar, which attract adventure travelers hungry for paragliding, treks to Anaimudi (South India's highest peak) and hikes originating at the confluence of three mountain streams. The stone Christ Church, built by the British in 1910, is adorned with renowned works of stained glass, and Eravikulam National Park, about 10 miles away, is home to equally colorful wildlife, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (ibex), ruddy mongoose and 120 bird species.

The showcase garden and the adjacent larger plantation at Cinnamon Gardens Spices Plantation, Munnar houses over 100 species of spices, herbs, ayurvedic medicinal and economically important tropical plants. Enjoy the guided spice garden tours and be enthralled by the varieties of spices from the world over!
We were staying in Munnar for one night and top on our list was to visit a tea & spice plantation. After being let down last minute by our hotel who had promised this we came to hear about Cinnamon gardens spice plantation. Unsure of what to expect we took a scenic 20 minute tuc tuc journey to the Cinnamon gardens, passing the dramatic scenes of the Munnar landscape and many tea plantations. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mathews whowas both friendly and welcoming. The entry fee was 100 rs per person (£1). Mathews conducted our tour which in total lasted 90mins. Mathews made the tour so engaging with his vast amount of knowledge and expertise. Knowing we came from health backgrounds Mathews tailored the tour with so many incredible facts about the human body and the role of herbal medicine. The tour was made to be interactive where you could ask questions, touch and try a lot of the herbs and spices. The garden was In abundance of different species of flora and and the sound of the birds and insects was stunning. I would really recommend this trip for anyone interested in plants, health, cooking or general Indian culture and tradition. Towards the end of the tour we were able to observe some of the employees dry the pepper corns and also watch the process where the pepper corns are separated from the main plant. At the end of the tour we were taken to the gardens outlet shop where you have the opportunity to buy and sample some of the gardens products. The sales technique was not pushy but was informative and interactive. The products were nicely packaged and I considered the prices to be fair. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Best wishes Polly and Johnny

Top Station is a highest point near Munnar. This place is the last sight seeing in this route....Mattupetty dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake and then Top Station. From the parking area you need to walk long to reach to the main entrance of the top station view area. Top station view point is actually a highest point where both kerala and tamilnadu border meets. Both the forest zone highest point meet in this place. You need to get the entrance ticket. You can visualize good photographic locations and natural scenic beauty until you reach the ticket counter. From the ticket counter entrance you need to walk down approximately 100 to 150 steps to reach another thrilling and exciting view point. That is the actual place where you can have 360 degree view of the valley. But it will be breathe taking exercise to reach that place. Definitely not to try for old age people. If you have having heart problems and breathing issues do not try to walk down. Because getting to top is much difficult, it is very steep while climbing back. There are also no proper fencing or hand grip / side rails provided to hold and climb the steps. Otherwise this is one of the place you should never miss and have some natural scenic photo shoots. Be alert while taking selfie also.

The 'Taj Mahal of Munnar"- This church built in 1910 reminds us of the British era ..its culture and customs..The burial Tomb or 'Eleanor Isabel May' reminds us of the romantic tale of Munnar. Her young husband, the Manager of the then Finlay Tea Co. lost his lovely wife who had suffered from Cholera at the age of 23... A must visit spot for every traveller who really wants to experience and learn the history of Munnar and its Culture...

Beautiful architecture on the top of a small hill right in the center of the city, the church stands tall. It overlooks the city and the adjoining hills. The statue of Lord Jesus beckons you at the base of the flight of stairs that lead to the Church. The Church is beautiful both from inside and outside. Unlike many churches, you remove your shoes before entering it. There is a daily service in Malayalam, including one in English on Sundays. Of course, the discourses in the Church are holy and enthralling. The view outside is lovely from all sides. A must see place in Munnar, very easy to locate and being there.

As others rightly pointed out its a nice view /drive through a road with tea gardens all around. One caution ,don't depend on Google map from munnar to this location as it's totally incorrect and we were struck in very narrow road with lot of potholes with no space to even turn back . With much difficulty,we turned back . Just set destination as thekkady or devikulam and you will reach this place easily.
