5 CUC entry, and an enthusiastic guide who'll tell you all about this cave system in several languages, at the same time! If you're worried about bats flying around you, don't they only eat insects and the highlight is the amount of cave paintings with a compass pointing north. If you're in Varadero, it's well worth a trip on the buss.

When you stop at the bar next to the bridge, you can take beautiful pictures of the Yumuri Valley, totally worthy!

This was my second visit to Cardenas and I'd love to go back. It is real Cuba without the masses from Havana. Horse drawn carriages, beautifully colored buildings, cool little shops and restaurants and bars to check out. It's really a great town.

This park sits on to of a hill. It has the Moserrate Chapel and a great view on one side of the whole city of Matanzas, the blue bay and on the other side, the Yumjri Valley. Great place to just relax a get away from the noise of the city. I highly recommend a visit when visiting Matanzas. You can reach it by Taxi and you can negotiate for the taxi to come back to pick you up at a certain hour. It should not cost any more than 4.00 CUC each way. 1 CUC = 1 US Dollar

We had the privilege of going to Sunday Mass at this church and it was very nice. It was a small community but very warm and the building itself, being the oldest Catholic Church, was quite beautiful.

We loved this museum. It's free and donation based and the man in charge is a lovely older gentleman named Maximo. We've never met someone so enthusiastic and passionate about his city and history regarding the firefighters of Matanzas. Our favorite part was the stories he told about the Cuban-American counter-revolutionaries and the objects they confiscated from them as late as 2016! Lots of spy-worthy stories and a rich history of an organization that does a lot of good for the city. Tip : You'll make Maximo's day if you bring any firefighter memorabilia from your city/state/country to add to the museum's. collection. Badges, t-shirts, caps, etc.
