We had an absolutely fabulous time. Kim was an excellent host. She picked horses for our experienced kids and for my husband and I who hadn’t been on a horse for many years. We rode down to the beach through the arroyos and back. And had an awesome lunch after. Thanks Kim!!! It was a highlight of our trip. We loved the ranch turkey “Tom”. We would absolutely do it again.

Rancho Cactimar combines ecotourism, permaculture and renewable energies. enjoy breathtaking views to the sea of cacti and the sea of Cortez, we are located in front of the whaleshark observation zone. Come discover our desert, our beaches, we have 5 horses available for tours and kayaks for those who want to paddle.
We had a great time staying at Rancho Cactimar. The ranch is located in the heart of nature away from everything making it the perfect peaceful place to relax and enjoy the desert and the sea! The views are breathtaking. Horseriding at sunset over the beach and sand dunes was absolutely amazing. Jean and Marjorie are lovely and warm people; they took good care of us and made sure our stay was perfect!

Visit Caktu in the Historic Center of La Paz. A lovely place where you can find souvenirs of Baja California Sur with a unique and artistic design. Souvenirs are objects that represent a place and help us to remember it with an object that treasures memories. Caktu transforms these memories in art inspired by the sunset and its colors, the magic of the sea and the enigmac desert.
Our tour guide Jay from Whale Shark Diaries had a really cool Caktu hat on. He told us about Caktu so we stopped in after our whale shark outing. Such a cute store with beautifully designed hats, cups, stickers and other items all original art from the owner of the shop. She was so nice and does such amazing designs. Really inexpensive and perfect souvenirs. A must stop in La Paz!

Beachside shopping street, providing you with spectacular views of the palm tree - lined beach as you browse through shops and restaurants.
I love La Paz's Malecon. When you walk along the Malecon, you are absorbed into Mexico, surrounded by local families taking walks, groups of friends chatting, joggers running after (or before) work, young folks skating along on roller skates or boards.. The Malecon is broad enough to accommodate these various activities The Malecon is actually a stone tile walkway, several miles in length, along the city's waterfront. On one side, the Ensenada de la La Paz, sprinkled with small boats, pelicans, herons, terns, gulls. On the other side, a variety of eateries. I find this area so relaxing. A place to be a tourist without feeling like one.

Built in 1720, this church has both historical and architectural importance for the city.
Beautiful place, always open for visiting and praying, with daily masses. The Christmas decorations were nice.

Great selection and prices at a superb location; right on the Malecon where you can also have an amazing meal and get to take a walk to enjoy the beautiful sculptures of sea creatures. I always look for something crafted in wood and this place delivered big time! It has of course a tone of other locally made goods as well, definitely the spot to visit if you are looking for something special from La Paz. The parking maybe limited so you most likely will have to park somewhere next door but as I mentioned above I bet you will end up taking a walk either way :) TIP: credit cards accepted!

We visited the kiosko in early January and the Christmas displays were still around, making an for an impressive sight at night. There were also markets around here the during the day.
