Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

A Thai friend recommended me to visit this place since I was on a hop on hop off boat tour. It's worth it! Unique Chinese architectures and many restaurants and cafes in there including some shops if you feel like picking up somethings as souvenir. A nice calm place which will give you a really nice scene for Instagram for sure. Highly recommended if you want to go somewhere besides the usual tourist traps.

An inspirational city located on the ground floor of ICONSIAM, mega-project, with a new concept of ‘co-creation’ between retail experience and cultural attraction that represents Thailand in a Day. Witness a million untold stories at SOOKSIAM and the charming DNA of Thai culture including Thai authentic foods, arts, handcrafts, and performances from all 77 provinces of Thailand in one destination.
Lovely space to eat and relax. Ground floor of iconsiam . Old style thai music and atmosphere . Excellent rainy day stop or mid river cruise day .

What a great place! This temple fetishizes Siamese trade with China via junks - the merchant vessels before the advent of coal-burning steamships. Windows in the ordination hall which look like portholes. Boundary-marker stones housed in white cylinders that evoke lighthouses. A stone ship which doubles as a little cemetery. And murals in the main temple which feature some of the gayest scenes I've ever laid eyes on in a Buddhist house of worship. The white-painted walls of the buildings almost glow in the right kind of light. The angles and ovals and tiers, and the fact that this temple is dedicated not just to the creed but to navigation on the high seas and on the Chao Phraya two centuries and so ago -- lovely and fascinating.
