Mt Amos Climb

Reviewed By Peter_Clare_50

This is more than a walk as there is a lot of rock scrambling. Please make to not do if wet or there has been recent rain as it will be very sloppy in parts. Also make sure you have good hiking shoes and we also found hiking poles and gloves useful. The 3km return trip can take 4 hours but it is worth it - the views are spectacular. A great memory, a must for anyone who likes a bit of adventure.

Farm hospitality was welcoming and friendly, farm pod was great with so many thoughtful additions such as hot chocolate and toasting forks with marshmallows for the fire pit and wood fired hot tub which made for a memorable stay. Map of walks a little confusing but just follow the signs to explore the farm.

The short walk around the point and up to the lighthouse provided wonderful views across the ocean and also across to the mountains and bays in the National Park. The road up to the lighthouse is quite steep in parts. But the walk from the car park is relatively easy and takes you around the edges.

Walking out onto the Coles Bay jetty made us wish we had bought our fishing gear with us this trip. Incredibly clear blue water allows you to watch the fish and squid swim past. Grab a pie and coffee from the bakery and wander out for a very restful lunch.

The oysters here were absolutely divine and soooo cheap. I had oysters with smoked salmon and brie - delicious. They also had mussels, scallops and you could have a takeaway of oysters, mussels and a huge lobster cut open ready to just scoop out the flesh and enjoy.
