Busselton Jetty

Visit Western Australia's top tourist attraction! Enjoy breathtaking views above and below the Indian Ocean from the Busselton Jetty – the longest tourist jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and second longest in the world! Spanning over 1.8kms (over a mile long), the Jetty is home to one of only six Underwater Observatories in the world. Ride the electric Jetty Train along the length of the Jetty, with 360 degree views across the ocean, and take a tour of the Underwater Observatory at the end. Experienced guides lead you through the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef, host to an awe inspiring forest of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals and fish. Descend 8 metres beneath the water’s surface to view more than 300 different marine species in their natural habitat. Walking, photography, swimming, snorkelling and diving are all popular and be sure to visit the free interactive Museum and Gift shop.

Wonnerup

Nestled between a majestic Tuart forest and the Vasse Estuary wetlands, the peaceful, almost romantic setting of Wonnerup belies a more difficult and turbulent past. The house, school and ancillary buildings are a powerful reminder of the isolation, danger and struggles faced by the Layman family during its 120 year occupation of Wonnerup.

St George's Anglican Parish of Dunsborough

This was a happenchance stop, while my friend had a facial in Dunsborough. The opshop was open, bright and cheery volunteers and I picked up some bits and pieces. But what was really nice, was that I got to chat to local people, discuss the township and where it was heading. Also found someone who had come from my hometown on the other side of Australia-always the case for sure! A great respite for a tired traveller.

Fish Busselton

This statue of a woman with a full belly is titled Fish. She stands to the side of the Busselton Jetty. My interpretation is that she enjoyed too many fish that can be seen jumping out of the water.

St Mary's Anglican Church

Sorry, I didn't go to church here, but I noticed they have programs to help people in need, so by supporting the op shop( on numerous occasion) I'm also contributing. The op shop is phenomenal, with their selection, charges and friendliness. I've found the well known op shops are now out pricing themselves and these people really are trying to help all. Out the back they have a shed with $1 clothes and they keep selling stock at this price , making room for more stock. Thanks everyone, miss it now we've travelled on.

Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse

Breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, Cape Naturaliste, Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park and the beautiful Geographe Bay coastline reward visitors to the top balcony of the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. Only 13 kilometres from Dunsborough, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, historic Tea Rooms and Maritime Museum reveal the fascinating maritime history of the Cape region.

We went on a guided tour of the lighthouse , we had a great guide for the 45 min tour to the top which was very informative and delivered great views . An easy climb as the lighthouse is short, loads of interesting stories from its history and views towards sugarloaf rock.
