This is a small hidden away temple in the village of NataDol. The attraction is however the natural beauty all around. On one side of the temple is a dense forest. Beautiful birds can be spotted here. On the other side is the valley of NataDol village. The temple is located on a high spot and gives a good view of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks. This is a good place for a short nature walk.

This is a new ashram that has come in the last few years. There is a group of temples, a Vedic school, a guest house, a meditation center, and various other facilities. The overall establishment is huge but only a part is open for the general public. It is surrounded by dense forests.

Having descended from Rudranath by around 2 pm we headed strainght to Kalpeswar. We had heard the road is motorable till about 300 mts from the temple. We were in for a surprise, the road after you turn from Helang to Kalpeswar is being done up and was in a bad state. It took us a full 3 hrs to travel 60 km and we reached our home stay - Patik Guest house which is about 2.5 km from Kalpeswar. Forget the road enjoy the scenic route. we just dumped our baggage and headed to the temple as it was getting late - 6 pm plus. Our road further up is motorable by say Jeep / Tractor our Xylo could not go much further. We walked about 2 km to reach the temple. The Temple location is just breath taking, with a river flowing by and a water fall dropping from about 100 mts. There is a rope way - not working as usual, a new bridge under construction for past 2 years ! For the present there is a small over bridge to cross the river and a pathway where you may have to walk on all fours to reach the temple :-( . The temple premises is very clean and well maintained. A Sadhu showed us around the place. As it was late evening the priest had returned. The temple however is always open. We stayed there till almost dark 8 pm plus and returned with a feeling we should have reached this place much earlier.

After a pleasant walk from the parking lot along a thoughtfully designed walkway one reaches a magnifcient site overlooking the beautiful valley and Kosi River. The main temple devoted to the Sun God is surrounded by multiple smaller shrines designed in a unique style hundreds of years ago and surprisingly well preserved. Intricate carvings and sculptures and fascinating paintings can keep you admiring the craftmenship in ancient times for hours. The place has a special spirituality! Although there were no other visitors, the UK government had put all COVID-19 basic prevention measures into place. A few more explanation about this temple gem would be nice.

The best place for Meditation. Kasar Devi is one of the only three places on Earth including Machu Picchu in Peru and Stone Henge in England to best the strongest geo-magnetic field which is believed to be the best for meditation. Swami Vivekanada Ji also visited the place and started his spiritual journey from here. If you visit Almora, visit Kasar Devi for sure, it's just 13 Km from Almora. The whole region is covered by Pine forests hence enhancing the beauty of this place.

We visited this place but reached by 11:15am. Nice clean temple with good ambience and view of Himalaya from this place. Weather was bit cloudy.
