Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Back in 2013, Banksy had a 31 day stay in NYC and left behind several pieces to be remembered by but at this time there is only 1 of his works that still exist. Should you decide to check it out the next time you are in the city, you will have to hike up to W 79th Street to see it (or take the 1 metro train which can whip you up there really fast from Penn Station). As you exit the station, don’t let the First Baptist Church distract you (it is gorgeous!). Go the opposite direction on W 79th Street from it and you will see the Banksy behind a thick sheet of plexi glass. Once you have seen it, walk up the street and buy something from Zabar’s to say thank you for protecting this remaining Hammer Boy.

I love Flea Markets, but 6th Ave and 25th St was closed, Hell's Kitchen was closed, and Brooklyn Flea are all closed for winter. This market is outdoors and indoors held at a little school. lots of neat vendors. This trip, we met Rosalind Harris (Fiddler on the Roof) and bought a lovely snake ring from her. We always meet interesting vendors and some great stories. Good deals and treasures to be found.
