Portland Wine Cellars

For over 100 years there has been a wine and spirits merchants, here, at the corner of Portland Street and Sefton Street. In the years since, not much has changed really. The Shop has expanded into its neighbouring shops and today the crossroads are dominated by Portland Wines. We no longer have the massive sherry vats much as we'd love them but we still have great quality at fair prices.

We like wine but tend to stick to the supermarket staples. We asked for help buying wine for our friend who knows his good wines. We were not disappointed, both staff in the shop knew a lot about wines and whisky. They were very helpful and didn’t take an air of superiority, which can sometimes be the case in some chain store wine merchants. Will definitely return, who knew we had such a good independent wine merchant so close.
