Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Opened on November 20th of 2001, the iconic Diagonal Mar, owned by a public fund of DWS and managed by CBRE, is one of the largest shopping centres in Catalonia, with 90,000 m2 of gross leasable area (GLA) and more than 200 fashion retailers, restaurants, leisure and services. In addition, it offers 4,800 car park spaces totally free for 3 hours. Recently, the centre was refurbished and modernized in order to adapt it to the new needs of consumers and industry trends.
Nice mall, near to the beach, great food options and shopping choices beautifully decorated, a bit expensive though.

A fun hipster market that's open the first weekend every month with lots of food stalls, bars, craft and clothing stalls, and live music. It's located in the large garden space surrounding an artist's studio in El Poblenou (not a big tourist area). You can buy tickets online ahead of time for 3 euros. We spent several hours there on a lazy afternoon eating great Mexican food (duck tacos with mole), wonderful desserts (we marveled at but passed on the cheesecake on a stick dipped in chocolate), and drinking a variety of adult beverages. It was a great break in the middle of a long Gaudacious weekend in Barcelona. There's a metro stop nearby (Selva de Mar on the #4 line), and there's also a nearby stop for the #7 bus that will provide you with you a tour of many of Barcelona's architectural highlights.
