The best way to cap off a day of pristine Roatán reef diving and heart-pumping adventure is to sip a sunset cocktail by the beach. From zip-lining to deep-sea fishing to exploring the military-protected archipelago of Cayos Cochinos, the Honduran island is a playground for lovers of water sports and ecotourism. Landlubbers will adore the Carambola botanical gardens, touring the Stone Castle Cameo Factory, or exploring the beaches on horseback.

I have stayed at Seagrape Plantation twice - January 2019 and March 2020 - and highly recommend this dive shop and property for incredible value and experience. The resort staff treats you like part of their family, and most of their guests appear to be return guests for this reason. When I came in January 2019 with my sister (who herself was a return guest), I hadn't been diving in 7 years and was so nervous on my refresher dive. I did 8 dives with Hugo and Kevin and fell in love with diving - and with Roatan - on that trip. The groups per divemaster are always small, and Michael the boat hand is incredibly helpful. I returned in March 2020, this time with three friends. I took my Advanced with Ricky and he is an absolutely fantastic instructor - calm, clear and competent. I did 12 dives, mostly with Ricky but a couple with Kevin and Ricardo. The night dive is surreal with so many octopus feeding, and the 'string of pearls' should be on everyone's bucket list. We left Roatan just hours before Honduras closed its borders due to the global pandemic. The lovely people on this tourism-dependent island must be enduring tremendous hardship right now. I hope to be back in 2021.

once again this year, I purchased two original and beautiful pieces made by the so ever charming Carla. 1 pain of earings with larimar stone and a Mayan calendar pendant, to match with a Mayan calendar ring made by carla a few years ago, and the earing to mach with larimar pendant made by Carla last year! I just ADORE her jewelery and can't wait to be back next near to buy some more. Have already placed my order! Thank you Carla, luv u xox

Made in Roatan is a non profit shop that aids in teaching and helping local families to make wonderful hand crafted items: seaglass jewelry, local jade, wood carvings, paintings, coin jewelry, and local recycled tin. All proceeds go back to the local families Teach a man to fish....
This shop caught my attention because of its upcycled products - tin roof: magnets; sea glass and shells: bracelets; etc. They have quite a selection of what I would all local crafts. The name of your artist is on what you buy. Oh - and the prices are great!
