I love coming here with my friends and family for a hot chocolate; it’s truly the best in Leicester ???? Lovely warm atmosphere, splendid decor and the most divine smell throughout the whole store. I also use their chocolate chips in my baking and I have received many compliments x

I regularly visit strawberry house, they have a fantastic selection of cakes, coffee is great, breakfast menu is superb! My favourite is afternoon tea, which I love going to with my Nana! The girls who work there absolutely spoil her rotten and has become her favourite hang out. Its always fantastic to meet the girls on a friday afternoon and share a bottle of prosecco to start the weekend, with the added bonus of treating yourself in the fabulous shop, from handbags to sparkles for every occasion!

This course was a birthday gift from family. My daughter in law and I attended and both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Katherine is an excellent teacher and she guided us well throughout the process. I can thoroughly recommend this course for those who enjoy arts and crafts.

Stumbled on this shop purely by chance but what a fantastic idea. Now we know it’s here we will come prepared next time we are in Leicester. I hope it does well because it deserves to.

Oooooh this was good - my idea of shopping heaven! The place itself is huge but very accessible - like a massive indoor antiques market, absolutely bursting with bargains. I'll be back!

Newarke Houses Museum is composed of two historic houses, Wygston's Chantry House and Skeffington House and tells the story of contemporary Leicester and the history of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment. The museum displays include a cinema experience, a collection of toys from Tudor to present day and a play area for children to try various games. Find out more about Leicester's famous son Daniel Lambert and visit a 1950s street scene inspired by Wharf Street that includes the Jolly Angler public house, a grocer and a pawnbroker, with sounds and conversations from the times. Discover more about the story of Leicester at War. Through personal stories find out about the home front and the history of the Regiment, including a recreation of a First World War trench with sound and lighting. Through oral histories, archive film, computer interactives and collections discover the histories of Newarke Houses, the surrounding historic area and contemporary Leicester.
I like this museum for the way it focuses on the detail of day to day life in the past - the toys, the old street, the shops. It's interesting, especially as some of the exhibits are from living memory! My kids particularly like the bit about Daniel Herrick and call it 'The Fat Man's House'!
