A British crown dependency, the sunny (well, relatively speaking) island of Guernsey boasts mild winters and warm summer months. From coasteering to kayaking, windsurfing to foodie foraging, outdoor enthusiasts of all types will love to roam this gorgeous Channel Island. A great base for fishing and angling trips, Guernsey also has plenty to see and do on the mainland. Explore Neolithic sites, stoic Castle Cornet, and ancient burial sites like Le Creux es Faies, a tomb that was once believed to be the gateway to a magical fairyland.

I recently visited Guernsey for a number of reasons, one being to visit Ben in his new shop. And if you like chocolate, this is the place to go. We sampled a few including a bronze winning malt whisky and lapsang souchong truffle. Ben has a passion for flavours and this shines through in award winning Mojito chocolate which won a World Silver ~ probably the nicest chocolate I have tried ~ . Well worth a visit and does mail order too.

Join our Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie inspired Pork, Walk and Talk tour of Wallow Charcuterie and the beautiful lanes of St Pierre du Bois; meet our heritage pigs, hear about life during the Occupation and enjoy a guided walk to the west coast to see the bunkers left behind. We then enjoy a local Blue Bottle G&T, charcuterie tasting and main course dinner at the nearby Imperial Hotel.
As a local to the island of Guernsey, this was the second time that I’ve been on the Wallow Farm Pork, Walk & Talk tour. Firstly in 2018 & most recently, last week. It was absolutely fantastic the first time round, so much so, it was at the top of my list to share this wonderful experience with friends that we had visiting from the UK. Nicky, who runs the tour, is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Right from the booking process, which was extremely easy, a simple email & deposit to secure, through to the wonderful informative & engaging tour that she gave. The tour starts off at a local hotel, with a private bus transfer to Wallow Farm, where you get the opportunity to meet the wonderful piggies & learn all about the breeding & farming process, all the way through to how Wallow Farm make their delicious artisan charcuterie produce. The tour then takes you through the idyllic & beautiful country lanes of Saint Peters. Here, Nicky shares stories of the islands occupation during World War II, comprising of memories shared by locals who lived through this period & also her detailed and knowledgeable research. Nicky has a real flair for engaging with you & bringing these stories to life, alll with a hint of inspiration from the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society movie. The tour finishes up with a bus transfer back to the local hotel & a delicious two course meal, sampling some of the Wallow Farm produce, all washed down with a local gin & tonic (which is included with the tour). I can not recommend this wonderful experience highly enough. From a group of friends, visiting tourists to the island or a works social event, this tour has something for everybody. Thank you Nicky & the Wallow Farm team! :-)

The National Trust Victorian Shop will be closed at present for renovation work to be undertaken. The National Trust of Guernsey Victorian Shop and Parlour is one of the oldest properties in St Peter Port complete with its wooden reed shutters dating back to 1760. Situated within the line of the town walls, this little shop proudly displays packaging from a bygone era and a Victorian Parlour. Sweets are still sold by the quarter. Items for sale include teas and preserves, items handcrafted in Guernsey, a wide selection of hand knitted tea cosies. local souvenirs, tea towels, cards, books and toys. Old local coinage, first day covers, used stamps, books, postcards, linen, bric-a-brac, second hand books and wooden buttons fill the Collectors’ Corner. We are sole stockists of knitting patterns designed locally: Cobo Alice, Cobo Fred dolls and Puffin. The shop is open from Easter until the end of September and nine days prior to Christmas.
Traditional sweet shop lots of original artefacts coupled with old fashioned sweets for sale and local handicrafts. The shop is unaltered since Victorian times free to enter and the friendly assistant a mine of local information.

Nestling in the beautiful Guernsey parish of Castel, Le Friquet Garden Centre is the island’s largest garden centres. Stocking the widest array of indoor and outdoor products, it also has the most comprehensive range of plants, seeds and bulbs in Guernsey. Good tennerfest menu all freshly prepared and generous portions. It tasted delicious and was served by a really friendly waitress. Excellent value - we'll be going back again.
