A small fishing village until the 20th century, Gdynia was rapidly built into Poland’s largest and busiest sea port after World War I. As a result, it’s mainly a very modern city. The most significant older attraction is the 13th-century St. Michael the Archangel Church. Two museum ships in the harbor, a destroyer and a frigate, are also popular with visitors. Gdynia has a thriving cultural life and in September hosts the annual Polish Film Festival, sometimes called the “Polish Cannes.”

Kultura Smaku is a new Polish concept of a delicatessen chain that fills the gap in the domestic retail market. The store was launched in November 2019 in Gdynia Orłowo. Customers can also use the Kultura Smaku online store with delivery of products in the Tri-City. The basis of this concept are selected products of the best quality available in a friendly, intimate space - also on Sundays! A large part of them are home-made, organic, BIO and ecological products purchased directly from local producers, whose development we want to support by promoting the idea of locavore (i.e. buying local products). We also operate in accordance with the zero waste concept. Shopping in Kultura Smaku is supposed to be fast, reliable and pleasant. Sellers are prepared to present the value of individual products and complete purchases while the customer stops for coffee and cake or tastes ready-made dishes made on site. Welcome!

The Riviera Center is the leading shopping and entertainment center in Pomerania. Cutting-edge solutions were utilized in the Center's architecture and design, resembling the French Riviera. Numerous playgrounds, distinctive seating spots, fountain area as a resting venue, as well as frequent events and attractions, make shopping - both on your own and with your family - a pleasant and relaxing experience. The Center offers attractive and spacious interiors, market leaders' stores and local entrepreneurs' shops, cozy cafés and bars, countless services and modern technologies. Interesting events are organized to galvanize visitors' time. The Center is distinguished not only by its size and adopted solutions, but also a rich set of tenants.
Large shopping center located approx. 500 - 700 mtr from the City Hall with tens of shops, cinema and excellent bars / restaurants where you can really enjoy good food with family and charge your batteries for further shopping. The place is very clean, safe and well maintained. There is a huge 3 level car park under the mall (on the right side) and conventional on the left side and outside as well. Tip: try to use the right one instead of the left which is always very busy because of Auchan supermarket located above. I would also not suggest to use car park outside if you bought a lot of things (long distance to walk).

This is the main place in Gdynia for your fresh market shopping, and I find that Saturday mornings offer the best range and selection of local fresh fruit, veges, in season wild food (such as mushrooms, berries and herbs), fish, poultry, meat, honey, cheese and fresh-baked bread and cakes - well, everything! Best to go early, and have good look around all the stalls to compare produce and prices before filling your bag. TIP: some stalls use paper bags, but most still use single-use plastic bags, so if you want be #plasticfree go prepared. The building itself is also worth a look. Miejska Hala Targowa (the Municipal Market Halls) is also of historic significance as one of the best and few examples of Modernist Constructivism in Poland, built in 1935-1938 and designed by Jerzy Müller and Stefan Reychman. The parabolic arches of the largest hall (Hala Łukowa) are particularly distinctive. In addition, the basement rooms have been taken over for galleries and workshops by local artists.
