Thankas and Gifts

Reviewed By Ritchie1990 - Harlington, United Kingdom

I've had a problem with buying stuff in McLeod because most of the handicrafts don't have clear cut prices marked on them & it's mostly a different price for different individuals depending on what the seller thinks you can pay, this has always been frustrating for me because I can't bargain to save my life and I find it extremely irritating going to & fro hassling over a price especially when I'm on a holiday. But by some miracle you have this place with an owner like Marleen, not only is she a deeply spiritual soul it shows in her business practices. Prices are clearly marked & as per my knowledge are quite genuine, surely you might go around hassling for better prices at different places & may even achieve success in finding a deal that suits you better but for me this is the go to place. I always visit when I am at Mcleod & have been doing so since 2012, I was extremely surprised that I hadn't already reviewed this place. The owner is not only extremely transparent in her trade practices but extremely knowledgeable about what she's selling making it more of a passion rather than purely a business thing. I have learnt so much from her during all my visits, She packs the thankas beautifully, provides you with the relevant literature regarding the deities and symbols on them, also if you are patient enough and ask her to guide you she will definitely help you find something that suits your requirement and personality, as thankas are more like yantras rather than just pretty paintings. It is always a pleasure to be in the company on joyful souls, so if you are in McLeod do pay this shop a visit.
