Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

One of the world's largest department stores, KaDeWe sells everything one could ever need and also offers an amazing selection of foods.
Very enjoyable upscale shopping experience, including amazing lunch (loved shrimp and salmon sandwiches) on the top floor.

This restored East Berlin commercial center houses shops, cafés, nightclubs and more.
The best commercial City village I ever seen. A quite your around the shops which are very carefully selected by the management. Fine shops and different kinds of goods. Products for all wallets and tastes. Boutique shops with clothes, belts, souvenirs, pastries etc. A place one has to visit if they visit Berlin.

If you're tired of galleries full of same old paintings and sculptures labeled as "modern", here you will find works that actually challenge the concept of art. Interactive, disconcerting, amusing - and some of them unlike anything you've seen before. The exhibitions aren't permanent, but I was very glad with what I've seen. A real gem for modern art lovers, and not just a tourist spot for those who want to tick it off their list.

I stopped by art4berlin with a friend after reading good things about it - it did not disappoint! The store is full of paintings and prints both small and large, ranging from depictions of the sites of Berlin to more abstract pieces. Prices are very affordable - a rarity in many art galleries. I recommend checking the gallery out if you get a chance!
