April 23, 2022 Deane Carmody

Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

We took the Red and White Fleet cruise tour to view the Golden Bridge and Alcatraz. Their office is just located infront of the Fisherman's wharf public parking. The tour lasts for 60 mins and they provide you with headphones and audio machine. Snacks and refreshments are sold on the boat. Its worth the price if you are visiting the area for the 1st time. You can walk from there after the trip to Taylor Street and get on cable car and try the experience which stops at Downtown. Also the infamous Lombard street is nearby by walk and can be seen. One thing to mention is that parking in SF is generally a hard thing and you will have to use public parking most of the times which are costly. I paid 45 usd for almost 4 hours at this parking so be careful. There could be cheaper parking available but I didnt really explore due to strict schedule. Overall the area is very busy. I highly recommend the cruise trip.

The bikes were great and came with a map, a lock, and a pouch to put stuff in. The lasy working there said they sanitize the bike after every trip. They have plenty of bikes so I am sure they have the time for it. The entrance to the golden gate Bridge is about 20 minutes away on the bike. We enjoyed the ride to the bridge and made stops on the way to get pictures with the bridge in the background.

We did the 60 minute trip to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. A delightful experience. The views of the bridge are absolute impressive from the boat. The view of Alcatraz is an eye opener. The ride was stable. Plenty of room on the boat. You can stay inside or go outside to get the real feel of the breeze, fresh air and the sun. The recorded narration is informative. The view of San Francisco is perfect and exposes the whole of the city to you. I highly recommend this quick trip. Easy on and off and doesn’t take up a lot of time.

For travelers of all ages, eager to test biking skills while experiencing a peak San Francisco adventure, we recommend this guided bike tour across the Golden Gate Bridge and into Sausalito. The electric option enhanced both our performance and enjoyment. Our guide, CJ, a native San Franciscan, shared his deep knowledge of the sites surrounding the bridge while attending constantly to safety-related matters. The views from atop the span were spectacular!

We loved our Sunset bike tour. It is not really at sunset but maybe that wouldn’t be safe in the dark lol. Garret at the shop was kind and careful with my kids and our tour guide Adam made the whole ride feel very safe and exciting. It was a large group and he kept control even on an extremely windy day. We didn’t really want the bicycle tour to end but when it did it was easy to get to dinner afterwards. Alcatraz was more than we expected. The audio tour is very detailed and easy to use (we used the app and our own headphones). We left at 11 and were back in San Francisco by 3 so had plenty of time to still visit Chinatown and little Italy.
