Virginia can make American history come alive. Visit Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, tour Civil War battlefields, explore the living history museum at Williamsburg… the possibilities are endless (if the kids object, break up the historical sightseeing with a visit to Busch Gardens). Arlington, site of Arlington National Cemetery, is just across the Potomac River from all the major sites in D.C. In addition to beaches and historical attractions, Virginia has plenty to offer outdoor enthusiasts. Active families will love the Blue Ridge Highlands, where hiking, canoeing and tubing are just a few of the activities offered. Couples might enjoy a romantic mountain cabin in Virginia after a day of hiking in Shenandoah National Park.

Regular hours from May 1 - September 10 Call to make sure we're in the studio during the off-season. Yarn and natural fibers shop featuring hand made wearables, giftables and homegoods as well as hand dyed yarns and fibers for spinners, weavers, felters and other fiber enthusiasts.
Learned so much about wool, sheep and the history of spinning. There was a lot of hands on teaching from Karyn Belknap. She is an extraordinary shepherdess and spinner.

Love coming here all of the time to walk or swim or just sit and look at the water and activity going on in the area. Very quiet area other than the occasional boat or children on the newly updated playground. There is also a sandy beach area where you can swim or just sit to enjoy the view directly near the Riverwalk. I come here very often and it is lovely every time.

We all have local dumping sites and land fills in our surrounding areas and it was great to see an area turn that land into something useful. The actual park is nice with plenty of pavilion spaces there are many different stairs to go up the hill. From there you get a good view of surrounding area. They also have an exceptional kids playground for all ages 1-10. No cost to enter and couldn't have found a better place to spend a day away from the beach while on vacation!

A very nice memorial to the VB law enforcement. The sculpture is well done, unique in design and the plaques are very informative.

Experience a wooded, walking adventure of the wildest, weirdest, craziest dinosaur park the Washington Post has called Amazing! Brilliant! Hilarious! This is definitely not your father’s dinosaur park! Enter into a time tunnel and discover Stonewall Jackson battling a vicious spinosaurus! get surrounded by deadly meat eaters! See Abe Lincoln after he’s lassoed a pteranodon chewing up the Gettysburg address! witness a stegosaurus being milked! If you like prehistoric creatures and civil war history, you’ll flip out over Dinosaur Kingdom II!
Great find, was really funny, my kids loved it! Also met the owner while he was working and gave us a behind the dinosaur tale. I don't recommend if you don't have a sense of humor, and it's really impressive that it is really just one guy's hobby!

This was a lovely place to see. It is sort of a rough path to walk on but easy enough for a stroller or perhaps a scooter. Good parking and a good place to see boats and the marina.

The King Neptune Statue is a great place for taking photos and also as a landmark if you and others want to meet up on the boardwalk. I love to look at it as it is a fantastic statue.
