Transylvania is a historical region in today's central Romania. Bound on the east and south by its natural borders, the Carpathian mountain range, historical Transylvania extended westward to the Apuseni Mountains. The term sometimes encompasses not only Transylvania proper, but also the historical regions of Crișana and Maramureș, and occasionally the Romanian part of Banat.

We were in August in Borsa, county Maramures for a holiday. We were so lucky because weather was with us and having such good time we decided to go see the Lake Iezer. You can use your car until Monastery Pietroasa on a very good road. After that you will start to walk on feet. Lake Iezer is a glacial lake in Rodna Mountains, under the Pietrosu Peak, at 1825 m altitude, with a depth of 2,5 m, a surface of 3450 square meters and lenght of 84 m. The road until lake is not so easy and we arrived there after 4 hours. Coming back was easier and the time was 2 hours and 30 minutes. Depend on you how healthy and quick you can climb. The view is exceptional in area which is natural rezervation. I recommend to go and see with your own eyes that beauty and if you are strong enough you can go further and climb at Pietrosu Peak at 2303 m altitude. Good luck, you will love it!

VIEWPOINT - CIUPERCA HILL ONE VIEW OVER ORADEA! If you spend a few days in the city on Crișul Repede river or you are only passing through, this is the place you should not miss. The Ciuperca Hill is one of the most famous symbols of Oradea, opening a very nice perspective over the city. WALKING TO THE CIUPERCA HILL If you are close to I.C. Brătianu park, cross it on foot and you will find a route to the Ciuperca Hill - the viewpoint of Oradea. The stone path up the hill is surrounded by a beautiful sight of trees and vegetation. You will find a waterfall along the way and if you get tired, you can rest on a bench or in the shade of a pavilion. As you continue uphill, there may be people lying in the grass and painters caught by the landscape. Now you've come to the top and the entire city is at your feet! THE CITY AT DUSK The story of the Ciuperca Hill continues at dusk, as the restaurant on top of it provides an intimate setting to romantic people, combined with refined food and a special view. The city lights in the evening are a fascinating show, but so are the shapes of the main city highlights that start to inhabit the hill, as their well hidden lights are turned on. The outdoor amphitheatre comes to complete the landscape, offering a place for meditation, shows, debates or various cultural events, with 130 seats available. Perfect for a cool summer evening spent with friends over a glass of wine!

This is a great place to stop and see some interesting medieval architecture. Walk around (there aren't many tourists) for one to three hours and explore a few sites in the city!

This impressive colonnade covered by long, 500 m, remaining far unique in Europe. One of the attractions of this is the roof in Byzantine architectural style, with wood sculptures giving the impression of a huge lattices. Another two similar pillars are found in Europe at Karlovy Vary and Baden-Baden. I have read once that ,,an old Romanian folk song says ,, ...There are no treatments for heart diseases... ", in Buzias your heart can be treated,, ... Apparently, high-density negative air ions in this park, due to the emanations from the wells, explains the beneficial effects of walks under the colonnade. Negative air ions (NAIs) have been discovered for more than 100 years and are widely used for air cleaning. This is what SCIENCE SAYS NOT US! But, what we can tell you for sure is that if you whant to relax for few hours and have a nice, quiet break ...this is one of the places you can do it. Enjoy! We loved it:)

The Alpinet Parc was created in 1926 by Mihai Demetrovici. The name comes from the fact that in the parc can be found many alpin plants species

A symbol of Sighisoara. To reach the Church on the Hill you must climb! ???? But after that, you'll see it wasn't for nothing. Great view of the town and... you did some sport up and down the stairs.????
