If you are looking for an active place to stay with world-class attractions, Ohio’s major cities can satisfy any vacation desire. Each offers its own distinct flavor of fun, from professional sports – Bengals (Cincinnati), Cavaliers (Cleveland) and Indians (Cleveland again) – to museums, outdoor activities and more. One of the most famous is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If football is your thing, don’t miss the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. For the science-minded, visit the meat eaters at the Carnivore Conservation Center in the Wilds near Cambridge, dedicated to the breeding and scientific study of endangered mid-sized carnivores. Kids will also love Planet Snoopy in Sandusky or the Columbus Zoo’s Zoombezi Bay Waterpark and Jack’s Landing rides.

The trail was longer than we expected, which we were very happy about. We stopped at the visitor center first and read about the area history. Then, a trail took us though nice maple woods to the start of Sandusky River, and around 2 beautiful ponds with water lilies. Don’t feel like hiking? Grab a book from the park’s free mini library box and relax on a bench by the pond.

one of the best benefits of my military service is the availability of both myself and my wife being laid to rest in this beautiful memorial park. On my weekly visit to my late wife's grave, I am always impressed with how well the cemetery is maintained and how hard the grounds crew works to keep it that way. I have visited her weekly for the past 3 years and it is always worth the visit.

We have not been inside the lodge building itself yet, but we have walked around it and peered into a the windows many times and it looks charming. For us,the real draw was the trails. If you follow the path out of the parking lot past the picnic area with a stone grill, you’ll soon encounter a winding path across roots next to a ravine that will take you to a branch of the Buckeye Trail. Once you reach the valley and turn left, you’ll be given a variety of options and trails, one or two of which go by some dramatic little waterfalls and gorges. Be sure to download (and also print out!) a map from the Cleveland Metroparks website, since it is easy to become turned around!

We took a day trip up to Valley View Ohio to the Erie Canal Exploration Center. Very interested in Canal items as I am also on the Board for the Middletown Historical Society and have done alot of work and research on the Miami and Erie Canal that run from Toledo to the Ohio River. I love that the Lock 38 was still somewhat intact not alot of water but enough for display and the Towpath is now a Bike and walking Path. The Museum is wonderful. Had a wonderful day and recommend you to visit.

My husband is from Cleveland and I've been visiting for 40-plus years but this was my first time visiting the 33 cultural gardens, representing the ethnicity of groups who have settled in Cleveland. We parked our car on a side street and started walking. Each garden is marked with a green sign indicating the country it represents. Some of our favorites included Hungary, Ireland, and Italy, but we didnt see them all since we got caught in the rain and had to cut our visit short. It was very quiet on a Thur morning which added to the experience; we only saw one other family. Many of the gardens are educational including busts and statues of famous citizens and plaques with history and cultural information. The hydrangeas were in full bloom and just beautiful. I would recommend downloading the map that's available online before you go. Also, there are guided tours on Saturdays which would be interesting. We loved our visit, and it's free!
