A magnificent temple with the tombstones of the Szydlowieccy family of the Odworąż coat of arms, among which is the main builder of Opatów's successes. A must-visit place during a stay in Świętokrzyskie - a pearl of Romanesque art in Poland. The Warsaw gate with a slightly changed tower than the original one and the underground route - a great thing.

The church on this site was built in second half od 14th century. Then franciscian monastery was added. That monastery was turned into a hospital and a shelter for the poor. With changing luck the complex more or less stood there till the end of WWII, when it was destroyed by Russian offensive shelling. Now it's only ruins on the outskirts of famous Szydlow ancient walled town.
